We all know one person who thinks being drunk the night before is the world's greatest unsolved mystery. Irish comedian Jarlath Regan explains the most common explanations these people give.

The 3rd one had a special word in German: Luftdetschn or luftwatschn. Which translated to the Moment when You drunkenly exit a bar and the fresch air hits you in the face and you feel your drunkeness with zwice the power.

As a Swede, we have three times a year where everybody gets stupid drunk. It is midsummer (please check the statistics of how many kids are born nine months later), New year (even the amateurs are out there) and the crayfish parties in the beginning of September. It is a classic that folks blame badly cooked crayfish for how everything went wrong. The problem is that some folks actually believe this is TRUE. They do blame the crayfish and not the bottle of schnapps that they drank in half an hour.

Well of course... Only the Swede's would have a strategically coordinated, limited organized time to get sh*t faced drunk!!😂🤣 In the US (Corp America) it used to be finishing a full day's work was reason enough (Happy hour), then you have promotions & raises, birthdays, anniversaries, every holiday, really any reason will do!! I had to stop drinking... 🙄🤍

In Norway we have the summer festivals.. then we have in Autumn the aqua-vita (akevitt) festivals.. it is a spiced potato spirit... Then we have the Rakfisk (cured fish)festival, which also includes the akevitt.. And then the JulBord(company getaway before Christmas which includes alcohol) Then we have christmas eve, which includes akevitt.. and the space between the chistmas eve and newyears we call the Romjul.. which is a drunken stupor... And then new years eve, which is offcourse a drunken celebration. Some people probably drink abit in easter too, but that is mostly younger people partying without kids i think.

Hi Jarlath. This sounds like so many nights I remember in Ireland. I must admit that with our crowd, it was “ we shouldn’t have changed the drink halfway through the night. Should have stuck to the vodka. That was after the holding of the friends hair back when she was sick in the loo. Your jokes always remind me of home, thanks for that.

You might be onto something with the fresh air; you described my old friend Joy to a tee- the one I had to drag through the streets at 2AM while she yelled at me that I was going AWAY from the parking lot and that I didn't know where I parked while I hissed at her to JUST SHUT UP because the cops would get us for public intoxication.

I'm the newborn foal. Went on a trip to Vegas, we all went to the Strip on our last night there. The rest of the group headed back to the hotel around 4 AM. I, with a dead phone and not a single clue where to go, miraculously stumbled into the room around noon.

In Indianapolis it's the entire month of May when the buildup to the opening of the Speedway and the buildup to practice, qualifications and the actual Indy 500. There are different levels of drunk there at different times and even in different areas of the track and not to mention the field owned by the local Coca Cola Bottling plan aka "The Coke Lot." There are large numbers of people in the Coke lot who never even make it into the track from that area. The Coke lot is a huge tent city and I have even met the "mayor" of the Coke lot or at least that is what his business card said.
