Drunk History’s Best Trips to Space (feat. Justin Long, Blake Anderson & Adam Devine)

Комедия

Drunk History’s blasted off to space enough times to put together a little lesson plan about humankind’s relationship with the cosmos.
About Drunk History:
Based on the popular web series, Drunk History is the liquored-up narration of our nation's history. Host Derek Waters, along with an ever-changing cast of actors and comedians, travels across the country to present the rich tales that every city in this land has to offer. Booze helps bring out the truth. It's just that sometimes the truth is a little incoherent.

From a PR standpoint, he was a terrible choice and I'm sure NASA didn't want any negative press, so maybe he wasn't as "promoted" as much as Armstrong or Aldrin? At the start, dude was married but living with another woman. Both him and his wife decided to keep quiet about their personal lives as much as possible out of greed, because they both saw the potential money that could be made down the line. Not surprising that he's one of the astronauts from that era that DIDN'T really make something from that platform.

Wow. It's all correct. Everything she says is in line with the way we try to explain reality as of now, and the things that happened beforehand, kind of happened like she is telling. Funny enough, this Wilson dude and Penzias, the guys who found that Cosmic Backround Radiation which they thought was pidgeon shit, had a friend from College named Fred Hoyle. Yeah. That one. Sir Fred Hoyle. Now this fellow insisted that the Universe was static and had been there forever (Steady State Theory), he was so sure that he mockingly coined the phrase "Big Bang" during a TV interview because he thought he absolutely had the high ground until someone proved him wrong. Imagine the awkward night at the Pub when his friends Penzias and Wilson came along and started explaining themselves... that they had basically discovered that Fred's full of shit without even looking for it.: "Oh, and by the way, they wanna give us a Nobel Prize now, LOL, we didn"t even know what we were looking for. But everyone likes this name you've made up... what was it again? Yeah, Big Bang! It kinda sticks, doesn't it? Well... sorry dude... guess drinks are on us." I like this approach to communicate history and science. It's much more entertaining than someone just clicking through facts of a premade presentation. Of course it cannot replace a proper education, but it may damn well spark some interest in people who now can better relate to stuff they normally wouldn't care about.

It's so awesome they had Colin Hanks play an astronaut here since one of his father's more iconic movies was Apollo 11. :D I also could be overthinking it.

5:58 This was the best moment. Not only because she's telling the truth, since 1% of the static your TV picks up is actually radiation emitted by the big bang (Shout-out to PBS Spacetime), but it is also the first time I've watched one of these and, personally, really thought, "Yup... that's drunk me alright.".

7:10 when she says "Gus", I'm thinking she brainfarted and meant Gus Grissom, who was another Mercury astronaut that flew in the Gemini missions and died in the Apollo 1 fire. I freaking love that even when she messed up she still just switched over to a different astronaut in the program!

This was NOT covered in The Right Stuff. This guy, later on in his career witnessed a saucer-type craft land near an air force base. Three legs extended, it landed. Humanoid beings got out and took soil samples or something. They got back in and it shot off. It was even filmed according to him.
