He seems like such a mellow, humble guy. He did awesome too. There's really no "wrong" way to do it, just different interpretations really. His first interpretation based on one listening is awesome. Very impressive.

Its crazy when you have people like this and Chad Smith for example. They can play anything. They never heard this song before, but they heard a thousand songs in this genre that sound like this. They have played them a million times. What crazy talent.

Man, these session drummers are something else. They can play anything. Ive heard someone say The Foo Fighters are the best cover band of all time, because they can play anything. They are like a session band. Elite musicians.

yeah, but in Chad Smith's case what suprised me the most was that he didn't even listen to entire song just "it's on 3" and started playing along.

We learned from the Dream Theater auditions that even VERY skilled drummers have a difficult time coming up with drum parts on the spot. That proved that it is very difficult to find drummers that can come up with drum parts on a first listen. They may have a hard time finding drummers for this series for that very reason. It takes great skill to do what we witnessed here and what Chad Smith did. Very difficult.

Say what you want about megadeth. But Dave surrouds himself with badass musicians. This is not what this dude plays everyday for his pay. He's not just a drummer. He's a musician.

I do not think "vulnerable" is the word. they might find a couple of ooh and aah moments while listening to the original. I also believe they check the ego out while doing an exercise like this. Also, a new sub. Saw a couple of videos from you and I thought... what a grounded reaction! ... like irl. Love it.

@@TheHonestTake That's awesome. I never knew that. I thought halftime was half speed/tempo. Playing on the 1 and 3 is very great way of putting it to non-musicians who have heard of 2 -4. Its not just slower 2 4 its 1 3. Music theory is so fun to learn. Im sure what I said makes no sense.

There are several AI online tools to remove or even split the tracks by instruments. Still, in the case of Drumeo I think they just reached the studios where these songs were recorded and bought the tracks and did some dark magic with the rights too because as far as I know, videos on their channel are not demonetized.

Special Comment: The Killers is "huge" in England, but it's not in the USA. I once asked a Producer on the LA LLoyd Rock 30 radio show and he told me that the band was not that big (during that day; during that time) and that is why it was never on the countdown. The song is very nice, and this drummer adds his metal drumming to it, and it gives it a lot of flavor, but this band is not that popular, and its music is hardly played on my local radio rock station. you can youtube drumless tracks but they most likely engineer it themselves you remind me of a professional that acts like he knows it all but the reality has so much more to learn. like the fact you expect all these top dogs to know these songs based off the fact everyone knows them but the thing is with REAL musicians they dedicate their whole lives to their craft since birth it usually blinds them in a good way and they just focus on themselves if they let outside influence change their true perception then they wouldnt exist . not everyone knows everything but those who know less can learn more also atheism plays a part in why people dont suceed with their talents
