that very emotional music piece from 10:56 - 14:01 is a whole movement titled "MOBILE ARMOR": imo one of maestro sawano's magna opera as it's as good, if not better than "UNICORN"

From 10:44 to 14:02 is all one song, called Mobile Armor. It's one of the most beautiful and bittersweet pieces in a standout of beautiful and bittersweet.

At 12:50, that melody made me so nostalgic about the anime. Hiroyuki really came out swinging when he composed the soundtracks for Gundam Unicorn.

Who translated that? I mean, it's not incorrect per se, but still... "There is no such thing as perfection" or even just a simple "Perfection doesn't exist" would be much better

While I totally agree, not being disrespectful here, that it seems few are qualified to properly comment on Sawano's genius/talent, at 17:28, you mentioned "I feel like if somebody were a crier, that would have made them cry." Sir, you have no idea how THAT legitimizes/solidified my longtime untold feelings. From a Taiwanese, a humble gratitude for making this reaction. Looking forward to the coming week!

My ADHD could never focus on visual AND audio. I get one at a time basically. As an animator, I'd start digging into that aspect not the music. Gotta tunnel my vision manually sometimes

I also recommend Gundam Hathaway's ost

My favorite thing in all of music is that universal bob/sway that all bassists have as they play.

I actually had a moment like that in tomorrow's video funny enough 😂 i was like "PLEASE UNDERSTAND I'M GUESSING BUT I THINK I'M CLOSE???" lmao. His unique and inimitable style! He took part in the best animated masterpiece ever! All his work is divine! titanic! on gundam aot Kabaneri guilty crown ! Aldoa zero Xenoblade Bubble ! 86 Seven deadly sins Sawano doesn't do light music like overtaken or mother sea! With all due respect to Tanaka, they don't play in the same league! Sawano is by far the number 1, the most powerful, the most unique! Able to adapt perfectly to the atmosphere of each anime! They mix every genre! His compositions strike at your soul with ferocity, power and emotion! The musicians are absolutely fantastic! The brilliant Yamamoto has an extraordinary style, close to that of his master, and is his worthy heir! His mastery of the synthesizer is incredible! The cellist, the drummer, the guitarist, the bassist and the violinist are all geniuses in their fields, accompanied by the gentle, melodious piano of the king of goats, Hiroyuki Sawano! @15:00 This is a vocal version of the music that plays at the end of Episode 7 where Banagher, after having transformed into a 'perfected Newtype', is crossing "over the rainbow" and meets up with his dad, they look back and see Minerva reaching out to Banagher and Banagher looks at his dad asking permission to go back and his dad smiles pushes him toward her. Translation: Banagher is dying and his soul is crossing over to the realm where Newtypes get their powers from and his father, whose soul is at least partially inhabiting the Unicorn, stops him long enough for Mineva to pull him back.

His best work was for gundam . Specifically gundam unicorn... he captured every emotion and nuance of that u.c timeline . Every piece of music for that was spine tingling 🔥

I like how the gundam in the bak has now become the unicorn gundam if you visit that location now. It'll have the unicorn gundam in its place

That's actually different one. The place you're talking about is Odaiba where the was the classic gundam from the original show and that now has Unicorn. This is "Gundam Factory Yokohama". They built it about 2-3 years ago as a project to have a fully moving gundam (old statue only had its head move) and sadly they plan to dismantle it sometime next year.

u should definetely look into “Light and Shadow” it was composed by Sawano and was made for a video game called League of Legends. one of my top 5 by him and that’s saying A LOT lmao

I also recommend his Seven Deadly Sins composition live performance

It's a great arrangement, but I still prefer the original orchestra arrangement of the OST for most of the things in that medley. Also I think this is slightly sped up compared to the original OST

This is for me is his Magnum opus. No offense, but compared to his works after Unicorn, this is really distinct and not similar with his other works.

That rx-78 really spoil the experience.
