    Amazing trick man and a really nice way to keep that artist's signature sound! Thanks for sharing.

    I recorded all drums after mic setup before the session so I had clear recordings of kick, snare and toms for Slate Trigger. So I sampled also round robins at different velocities. But I spared the cymbals because I thought they were easily replaceable with samples from Slate SDD. I‘m not quite sure if this was a good idea.

    Brilliant idea. It's a lot of work, but it can be very useful. And in addition to that, you now must have a huge library of excellent drumkits.

    We have quite a few but it actually doesn't take that long if you do it right after the session, maybe an extra 5-10 mins. Its really just an extension of the song.

    Thanks for the useful video.. I have a question and I hope you can give a full explanation about it if possible.. I want to know how to record my tracks instead of using the rendering in place feature and how to routed the tracks 💙

    @@Featherlightstudio Thank you, brother. Honestly, I used to do the path routing method when I was using Protools, but when I switched to Qbiz , I found the method a bit confusing, and I needed to see someone explain the method.For example, if I have 4 tracks, they go to the bus and this bus has some filters and compressor and limeter, how do I log these Tracks with all process i have on bus 💙🙏

    @@ma3boch The 'Render in place' tool gives you several options when mixing down. One of them (Complete signal path) will Mix down/Render with ALL the processing on the tracks AND Buss.

    Great video. Have two questions, how do you program the Hi-Hat to open and close and how do you save your new built drum kit to recall for another project? Love your channel.

    Programming the voices was a bit much to throw into one video but you can save your sets right in the Groove Agent Preset Load/Save window like any other set. we'll dive deeper in another video.

    ?? you said you used a gate for recording the toms. Is that just to save work down the line or does it have something to do with monitoring for the drummer? I guess my question is what is the advantage to gating the toms while tracking as opposed to doing after in the mixing?

  • @Featherlightstudio

    @Featherlightstudio

    Sorry for the confusion, the gates are only used in the mix stage, not the actual tracking

    With all these editing tools and possibilities such as Groove Agent, Sampler Track, Vari Audio, Spectralize,... Cubase as a professional DAW rules. I still don't understand why ProTools is still marketed as "the industry standard" when it clearly hasn't advanced from his features and functionalities since the last decade.

    Many of us grew up with Pro Tools. Its often the ONLY option offered in recording schools and university as its the oldest DAW. This gave PT a huge head start in the industry, back when the industry had little DAW competition. Most modern day DAW's have long since surpassed PT in both workflow and song/beat creation tools but, being the industry standard means its a 'language' that most studios still speak...and for things like hardware control, PT is still extremely powerful.
