I really wish you posted your videos on unison before I bought one of their products. it wasn’t really worth it but the worst part about it is they won’t stop emailing you. It’s always time is running out this, couple days left on that, there’s a special on this, sale ending soon, what are the types of bullshit. It’s like getting hunted by this one regrettable person you hooked up with once drunkenly. They just keep coming back and you regret that night for months and months to come.

I never had a fire drum pattern myself i can hear it but i always came up with that boom bap pattern every song.... drum, snare, hat, then started watching South Side, TM88, and all the ATL legends to get that bounce..... so I started using loops but didn't really like the tones of most of them so this is perfect for me... u can load ur own samples and I generate and then I edit to my liking... and it adds shit that i never thought about adding like percs and toms.... so it's 🔥 to me..... better grooves for my tool box now

Ave - Said it before and I'll say it again. I really appreciate your transparent approach. I always cringed at this plugin for more reasons than just the price. For me creating the beat myself is like 80% of the fun, so I would never use it - but I love that you are willing to absolutely go in on any product. Ive seen you trash things that Akai does, and as a Maschine user ive seen you trash on them too, but most importantly nothing has ever been a lie. I appreciate that you are one of the few content creators who doesn't get caught wearing rose colored glasses for companies you like, or not allow yourself to give props to companies you typically aren't a fan of too. Keep up the good content sir!

I think my favorite part of this plug-in review is the idea there is only a limited amount of licenses when you know there isn’t. Great take on a very questionable VST.

I immediately subscribed to your channel after watching this video. Thanks for the honesty and critical approach. For amateurs like me, the Unison stuff is tempting but I am glad that there are people like you who counterbalance the ad bombardments on social media.

Let me keep it a buck....I was being influenced with all the ads like 'is this really good, i know they are sus but once I started looking at it, the price, the limited licenses, no demo version...it didn't feel right once again from these guys. I started researching alternatives and they look much better, with trial versions or at least 1/3 of the price for reputable companies. I appreciate you for keeping it real for the community! 🚀

I think it's funny because if they put it for let's say 50 bucks even 30 bucks. With the amount of people that watch their annoying ads they might even make more money. Cherry Audio sells their amazing VST synths for 30 bucks. You can't tell me their company is doing bad financially.

It's a simple pattern generator. I knew it was a scam when I saw the $300 price. It was 1500 licences a few days ago. I told them it was easier to get $30 from 10 people than $300 from one

Unison does seem a little scuzzy with a lot of their products. Glad that creators are coming out and calling it out. Also their selling method is based off of this dude Russell Brunson's model who's a hardcore marketing guy.

Aye I appreciate this video. I grabbed their midi chord pack, then got a different midi chord pack from another ad, then realized they had a lot of the same midi chords and progressions. Now I've been seeing the Drum Monkey ad and yes, everything you said is on point. The overselling of it was a huge red flag.

Thank you for the video and bringing awareness to a predatory website - When I first visited their website I saw red flag after red flag (no demo and the limitation of licenses only added to that feeling). Also, another common tactic today is to use the phrases "machine learning" and AI to sell products - It sounds impressive but usually meaningless in the end. Thanks again and peace!

Its good to see you being totally honest and giving Chucki Beats his due (along with Sep/Unison)! You deserve a ton of support and respect for laying it completely on the line. A friend of mine pointed me to a video by Valentina Bilancieri on her mixing approach once, and a few days later I saw her advertise the Unison MIDI Chord Porks. It's no exaggeration that I lost most of my respect for her, since that pack is utter garbage. The web marketing channels that are basically into these kinds of endless repeat funnels are like their own little scary world of zombification. Pay for it and basically its like a zombie has eaten your soul, and continually follows you to take more bites - sucking you away from your musical mission. At least with Monkey Beats Sep is apparently trying to do something a bit different than what's out there. But I reacted like you, because of their web site and sales tactics, and pricing strategies.

The fact that they're advertising so much gets some people so excited they don't necessarily know to check for other options, especially if they are new to this stuff. I guess they rely on that in unison that people don't know better and are too lazy to learn to make patterns themselves. But there are so many better drum machines that cost less and some good free ones as well.

@@CuteTransGirlxD They can, and with drum monkey you mind as well go get loops and midi files; But other vsts like XO and drum computer do more than just give you midi templates and one shots. XO’s playground mode gives you infinite variations on a sound and then a sound comber menu to swap to a similar sound from your library if not to your liking but want a similar sound.

Bro. I got XO, superior drummer and ez drummer. You can’t tell people that the patterns in there come anywhere close to drum monkey. I Was skeptical of it, but grabbed it. Shit upped my output rate by a lot, for the simple fact of time saving. XO is the best drum aggregator for sure. Superior drummer best for live kits, but this drum monkey shit is by far superior for pattern inspiration. In combination with Xo it’s a killer. Don’t knock it. I wasn’t able to do drill or afrobeat for real but now I got that shit easy. Im a melody man.

IMO, Not offering a demo to me is not always an instant red flag in some circumstances. The rest of the issues raised here however can not and should not be ignored. There are many orchestral library's for example that have a similar cost(or more) then this product that do not have a demo version. NI Kontakt is often used for these library's and does not offer any ability to provide demo versions of library's. I have often thought it be good if NI offered to library developers the features to be able to offer for example time limited demos.
