Agree, excellent idea, devote the storage room to a dressing room. I'd keep the beautiful antique trunk in the bedroom though, bits a piece that should be enjoyed.

I know it probably won‘t work with so much stuff but I‘ve recently seen someone put all the clothes into categories so that you immediately see how many pieces of for example shorts you have, which makes it easier to see what you want to keep and how many similar items you have.

@@SpaceMakerMethod I don't like baskets! Interior designers always talk about having natural textures but they biodegrade, snag and collect dust! Triple fail! They look nice new. The cubbies could be good as shelving though.
I like how fast this woman makes decisions. She doesn’t tell a story about about each article of clothing. You go girl!
I’m at the beginning of the video but I heard a tip that said don’t keep any “7’s” out of ten, only things you feel like an 8 or above in!

I'm 34, and I 100% had cami's like that my junior year! That's all I wore my junior year - various brightly colored cami's with the same shrug over top, all from Target lol. 🤦♀😅 On the video note, this was an amazing declutter! I'm currently helping my mom work on decluttering our shared basement craft/art studio that is filled to the brim in every available spot, and after over a decade of feeling like the walls are caving in, we have SPACE. My mom is in the same place Dani is in, overwhelmed and ready to let it all go. She's decluttering stuff from a past life (no longer freelance teaching art classes or selling at festivals, and at 61, no longer able to do certain crafts or even wanting too) and me too, a few things down there are mine. Over the past week ALONE, we've (but mainly her!) let go of a few carloads and we have removed 9 shelf units from the space! 😄

It's all so pragmatic and mundane. It's just grab the first pile and begin, then grab some more. Have someone there who asks the right questions, keeps you on target and focused, and plough through the deluge of decisions. The end result is magical and freeing and wonderful. I think Dani was amazing! A-Ma-Zing!!! She just powered through - she was so ready to get to the other side. Her space looked so much better just with this one go through - go Dani - you are glorious! And I love angry little Lucy and happy little Ricky 😊
This video definitely inspired me to clear my own clutter. Dani is such a sweetheart, cant wait for the next videos. 😊

She's adorable and she's so great at letting things go! Im going to use her as inspiration 💕
Go, Dani, go!
She has a great personality and so determined to get back on track. She's doing a good job. Look forward to seeing the entire room transform, a nice little series. I agree with other comments; the storage room, once decluttered can be a dressing room/storage room. The bedroom will be just a bedroom sanctuary. I'd keep the beautiful antique trunk in the bedroom to enjoy!
Lucy didn’t want you on her mama’s bed!😄😄😄Its funny how protective cats can be. Mine are worse than my dogs.
Another quick win: please swop all of your hangers to the velvet ones. You have enough of them and it will look so much better! And immediately get rid of those existing donate and recycling piles now that they are still manageble. That will feel so liberating and airy!
Dani has such great energy! And your chemistry together plus your process of starting with quick wins made this first day really rewarding to watch. It seems like it was just what Dani needed to build her confidence in decluttering, too! I'm so excited to see you continue working together on her space.

Oh she is defenetly visual organising person. I am too. I need to see every clothing I have, but I don't want that to be "in my face" out to see all the time. So closed doors, but in there as visually presented as they can be. Huge hug for Dani for her progress!!!! Drawer that didn't open fully beside the bed could maybe be the out -seasonal clothing storage, that you don't need to open often 🤔 Keep up the good process 🫶

We moved 12 years' ago. I did a MASSIVE declutter/downsize starting at about 6 months' before moving...especially the basement because we didn't have a basement in the new house. Plus, I wasn't going to pay a mover to move so many books and other stuff that just needed to go. Smartest thing I've ever done. And STILL...too much stuff...had to declutter/downsize AGAIN after the move. My advice: Don't wait. Get started! Sending you motivating wishes.
I don't hear a lot of plus size people saying they love swim suits. What are her favorite brands /styles available in the USA for plus size women ?
@daniphillips

I have had great luck with torrid, shein, and target!
@jenniferpearce1052
3 ай бұрын
I'm plus size and I love my Torrid suits. I'm an odd person who prefers underwires and they make suits that not only have a built in underwire bra, they have a band that hooks in the back inside the suit so that it _functions_. They also make suits withe a size and a cup size combo, which is unheard of. They are super tight to squeeze into the correct size for the first two or three wears. I wore a torrid suit for a year of 2x per week water aerobics/lap swimming and it lost all elasticity. Also, the color bled when I put my damp suit in my canvas gym bag. So be sure to check anything and rinse out loose dye. They also sell them seasonally. Probably coming out soon and they'll probably be into clearance in July or August. And they're expensive. TLDR: Torrid for expensive, well fitting suits with some drawbacks.
I know this is random, but the fish paintings is really pretty ❤

Reselling takes too long. It could take forever and then you're still just keeping the stuff in your space. I've tried it, and gave up and donated.
Dani has a lot of clothes but they are so lovely. How wonderful it is to focus on the ones she really loves and wears. They look so beautiful, on display, when arranged in a neat manner. Well done!!
Hi, love the art and plants. Waiting for part 2. Tina, Al's wife
Pumpkins FTW! That will be a cute bedroom 😍
I love watching these! So much inspiration and feeling better when you declutter!
I enjoy this so much! And the sobering thought that if we all want, we could dress in very few, quality clothes, shoes, toiletries etc. The added up cost to me is enough to make me stop buying unnecessary stuff! Give my best wishes to the lovely lady who has a lovely personality. Her friends are very lucky! Your strength of mind and body and energy are admirable!
I really enjoyed the dani and tracy series. Chatting more and no loud music.

I would be interested in seeing a follow up video of summer wear being decluttered. So far it’s been set aside. Some great progress being made here. It’s hard to let go.
This was great and I’m really looking forward to following this series. Seeing you facilitate Dani’s sorting process by moving items to the appropriate piles reminds me that that is the part that often slows me down: keeping things in the donate/ off season/ other room/ etc organized, especially when I return to sorting things the next time. I should really make labels I suppose.

SO good! So impressive, hooray! I'm wondering if labels would be helpful for closed storage if clear containers are not yet an option. On the one hand, you may not want words looking at you, but on the other hand it would probably be preferable to the piles of too much 😅 great job you two! 😊

I love the discussion of what "out of sight, out of mind" means. I have frosted glass kitchen cabinet doors and it's the perfect combination of visible and hidden. It doesn't look cluttered but I can see enough to remember what's there.
I LOVE your channel.
I have lots of clothes too
I would suggest that as you move through, change hangers as you go so each area is complete and donations can all go together
I am enjoying this process because your client is actually parting with her extra stuff.. I find it almost to stressful to watch when the clutter just gets moved around from place to place in the house. This client is doing awesome, good job!
Thank you April ....you are a powerhouse....new subscriber here ...am bingeing your videos...now up to Texas...done Dani and Tracy ...can't wait for new episodes 👍...done Eunice and Miami too. Really like the way you let people go at their own pace and make their own decisions...no pressure....it's hard dealing with our stuff...so many emotions....only making more and more passes as time goes by helps you detach yourself. You're turning them into their own power houses by giving them their confidence and self esteem back 👍. Enjoy the power hours too ...and the way you hoover just a bit at a time giving quick wins. I work exactly how you do....some organisers like to heap it and attack... I can't do that...I'm like a mole...all the spare goes behind me....have just done the Spring sort out plus seasonal changeover...which meant just "shopping the house" for what I already had...but change it into different rooms. Most of it now is just opening a drawer etc and doing a "quick eye sweep" ...and removing what I no longer want...pass it onto friends by texting first and sending photos ...or am lucky... as our local charity shop collects 🚚 directly from me. At present I have a "room of doom" but it's full of sorted stuff...as have plans for another room. Also do 15 mins quick sorts when there's jobs that bug me ..then take a break .. then do another 15 mins ...works every time 👍....you see the results in no time...plus it doesn't break you! So enjoying your channel....keep up the great work...and thank you, once again 😄. PS you came up as a Recommendation ...one of the best ever.
Great job Dani😊
I can so relate. I have a tiny place and I love clothes. I'm actually a reseller so I have reasons to have lots of clothes. But I did a huge purge right before Christmas and my neighbor is so happy. I gave him a s*** 10 of clothes and house items. I'm still working on it but it's awesome each room has its things appropriately. I love watching this declutter episodes.
Clothing swaps were a big contributor to my accumulation of clothing. It’s such a fun experience. I can see why people got so into Tupperware, and Avon, the whole social aspect of it. You know, when people bring things to a swap, they are essentially saying “no” to those pieces, so who can blame you if you also decline them. 😊 you’re adorable just as you are❤
Looking forward to the next video in the series!
