Hi Tina I’m sure it will be fine. I am very interested in knitting the Whitmoor cardigan the trouble is I have never knit a top down cardigan or jumper before and like you I was in Aldi a while ago and some crafty pink DK wool just happened to fall into my trolley which I hoped to use. It’s just I’m a bit nervous to try the top down in case I don’t get it right. So I’m just sticking to sock knitting at the moment which I love knitting thanks to you as I couldn’t knit socks until you showed me how with your wonderful teaching videos .

Thank you so much for your lovely comment. Pat the beauty of Aldi yarn is you can have a go with nothing to loose . Worse case scenario it doesn't work out and your loss is £3.99 . I'm sure you can do this , remember how hard socks looked before you knit those . I have got top down sweater tutorials on the channel. Take a look so you get a better idea of the method. You can do this , one stitch at a time x

Hello Tina, thickness of yarn does seem to vary. Would you consider doing a tutorial for the Inverted Peaks Sweater at any point. I find your tutorials so good. I learnt to knit top down through your videos. Thank you.

Hi Tina looking forward to seeing your progress I am actually using your tutorial for the tin can Felix I am using fingering weight first time ever knitting a top down jumper with Circular needles in fact a 1st time big project like a jumper and I find your tutorial has made it so easy and not stressful I am so glad that you are doing more on you tube keep it going thank you from Western Australia

Looks yummy! Please share your progress!! Re “fluff”… I’m making a top down raglan pullover using Rauma Finullgarn (2ply fingering) + Rauma Plum (mohair w nylon versus silk), on US7/4.5mm needle. I worried about allll that fluff everywhere, but it’s not bad !! A little bit now & then but I can’t complain. My first w mohair, soooo soft! LOVE your blue Cardi! I must look into lighter/fluffy/thicker yarns… adore cardigans, & the quicker/faster to make, well,… that’s my kinda sweater! PS I’m in the US, so I source yarn “stores” online, or those who stock yarns from across the pond. I also utilize YarnSub for alternate yarns, very handy resource! Thanks for sharing your Craftiness !! I enjoy watching!

Oh I agree about faces on animals. I made 3 teddies for grandchildren and each one looked so different due to their faces. There was an angelic one, a bad tempered one and a cheeky one. I did try to change them but was making it worse. You have inspired me with your Whitmoor and I have bought the same Drops Lima in the off white colour. I made a Whitmoor earlier in the year but I used a wool/acrylic/polyester mix and I just don’t like it. It really needs a pure wool so I will be starting my new Whitmoor in a couple of weeks when I have finished my current project - I am a monogamous knitter and dressmaker. I like the idea of Intarsia but couldn’t manage all those balls as I have a mischievous puppy and I have enough trouble trying to hide one ball, never mind 3.

Tina I'm working with it now it's more like a brushed Chunky it's fluffy can be a bit tricky if you have to rip out a row. Thanks for this xx

I got drops melody expecting to make a t-shirt or something but it’s just too fuzzy for me. I don’t know why they sell it as an Aran, it’s clearly a lace

I think its called a cable cast on . It's the one my mother taught me when I was a kid 😊

I’ve always been under the impression that novelty yarns are all regarded as chunky.

Drops melody is not promoted as chunky yarn at all. Garnstudio says on their website it's a mohair-like yarn and every website that carries it should say the same. Any website I ordered DROPS from said it's a mohair-like yarn so idk where are you people ordering from lmao

If you look at their patterns for Melody it's classed as a D chunky yarn
