Dropping Cameras to Find Perth Dhufish
Спорт
There's a lot of ground out there off Perth that hold WA dhufish, and often its the smaller, less obvious structures that experience less fishing pressure, purely because they are hard to find. In this video, Jayson, Anton and Seb headed out off Mindarie to find some of this ground in the "flat 30s", and were not only rewarded with a fair few good future spots as well as putting together a great mixed bag of demersal species. To make the mission easier, they dropped cameras on each spot, getting the best possible indication of the fish life down there and the kind of bottom they live on.

Just found your video. Overcrowded, what looks like little more than a speedboat, in snotty conditions; I would take more care even though you are only 3 miles offshore. Nice fish but a bummer if you do not return with them!
great fun as always lads, nice fish too!
I got bitten off twice recently on fish that were 0.5-1kg and fighting hard and head shaking like crazy (so not leatherjackets, Norwest blowies or sharks) and wondered what they were. I figured from size, teeth and fighting that they were school mackies and the video seems to confirm it! Surprised they’re around this late though!
Great video what rig setup do you boys mainly use? Or recommended and would recommend for surf fishing :)

In this case we made up some paternoster rigs, but in reality any bait presentation method that remains vertical will be able to nail some dhuies 👌
Good to see that some people still let under size dhues go

We're hoping that some common sense will prevail under the new rules

Think it might have been a school mackerel, but regardless pretty surprising to see them around on the offshore metro reefs.
