DRONESCAPE: Graffitied Sky Scrapers, Los Angeles...
Фильм және анимация
This dronescape features three skyscrapers bombed by a range of graffiti artists; about 40 stories high in Downtown Los Angeles. Construction was halted without a projected completion date; due to corruption of ex-LA councilman Jose Huizar on racketeering charges. In addition with financial issues in relations to current geopolitical tensions between USA & China. This scene has become a spectacle in the city with onlookers dazed; toward the sky.
LA artist highlight and educate the public within the week of Jose Huizar's prison sentence and that corruption in LA is rampant.

This is going in the graff archives for sure. Generations of artist will re-watch this like we did watching art grow from the 80’s to present day.

I totally agree because graffiti is one of the arts of Los Angeles. I think something big is going to become of this.
I'm pleased these artists illuminated the transformation of this scandalous real estate project. If you find it unsightly, let's leverage it for good. The art sheds light on the corruption overshadowing LA city politics. For years, people passed by, expecting a beautiful building, unaware that developers ran out of money, leaving this mess visible but overlooked. Kudos to these artists for bringing attention to it.

@michaelc3977

Powerful? I guess we have different definitions of the word 'Powerful' then. When I read someones name in graffiti, I think, there is someone with so little in this world that all they have is the ability to scrawl their name on a wall. For me it invokes a feeling of pity for them - lost souls desperately scrawling their name, in as big letters as their paint budget allows, and meekly saying "please notice this, because it's all I have". But to you, you see this as poweful? Interesting. I'd like to hear how you reach that conclusion.

@@michaelc3977 maybe he meant powerful when they focus on something together, like they are able to paint houndreds of floors in few days. But i dont understand if u hate it or like it, but sometimes yes - its all what they have. but i dont see a problem in this, i love it, i love imagiing my own character behind every name.

@@michaelc3977 Marking the abandoned towers that are tied to councilmember and confessed racketeer Jose Huizar's corrupt sale of land use votes in Downtown Los Angeles with the bright signatures of creative people sends a message we find powerful. This joker chased the artists out of the Arts District and was a major contributor to the housing use crisis making it so hard for everyone to survive in L.A. We just came from the site--you can see the tags from a long way away. The effect is that a blighted development that had blended into the surrounding towers can no longer be ignored, and City Council has even initiated a motion to force the owner to secure and clean it. Good luck getting the owner to pay to demolish it, which is necessary because it can't be occupied after years open to the elements, but it's something.
