    It's not a plate compacter although a plate compacter may achieve the same ends. It is a purpose-built vibrating mechanism used to drive piles more quickly. First time I saw it in action I couldn't believe it. They were using it to drive huge I-beams into frozen ground. Like a hot knife through butter. Amazing!

  • @danielroe845

    @danielroe845

    It's quite common in Holland. But they run counter rotating eccentric vibrators, essentially the same internals as a proper piling hammer but more interchangeable for different piling. Admittedly, this isn't that. That's just a compactor plate contrary to what another comment says. Absolute shit show

    Running a bolt and nut on every lift??? NEWS FLASH>> Leave a chain connected to the lift. Cut a T slot in the top of the towers then simply run the chain in the T slot ! NO bolts washers and "NUTS" I watched it for 5 min. and could recommend all kinds of things that would speed up this construction. Cut at least 75% of the time needed. Unbelievable waste of time doing it like they are. One tower at a time??? How about pre built sections!!!!
