That is so beautiful, great to see the backcountry of the park and I loved seeing the ranch, that is a place I would love to stay at. The cabins look so nice. I am glad you got to stay in one. That would be amazing to look at the stars from there, I remember they were so bright.

This was a nice area of the park and at the end of the road, there are some hiking trails that you would probably enjoy. The cabins were a great place to stay at and the stars were amazing! I need to learn how to take better pictures of them.

What a great back road drive with so many pretty views. Don't you just love walking around ghost towns. The overlooks had such a great view of the river. The ranch looked like a fun adventure. The lodge or motel and the 4 cabins looks like a great place to stay while in the area.

We really loved our visit to Great Basin National Park and Snake Creek Road was a great way to see the backcountry. There aren't a lot of place to stay in the area, so we glad to have a spot at Hidden Creek Ranch. It is a nice place to stay. Thanks!

Nevada is such a large state and the only place that most people get to is the Las Vegas area. But there are many other interesting places to visit in Nevada. Great Basin National Park is beautiful and I hope to go back someday. Take care!

This is a beautiful park. Snake Creek Rod looks like a great place to explore nature. It was interesting to learn how Great Basin National Park got its name - and about the history of tungsten mining in the area. It is always interesting to find mining camps, cabins and other structures that people once called home that have since been completely abandoned. Hidden Canyon Ranch looks like a lovely place to stay in the area. Thanks for sharing this trip with us!

There aren't a lot of places to stay near Great Basin National Park, since there isn't much population in the area. So Hidden Canyon Ranch was a great little find. It you like remote areas and being in the back country, this is a great park to visit. Take care!

Thank you for the memories. In the summer of 2005 two friends and I camped five nights in Snake Creek Canyon. We fished, hiked, and had a wonderful time. At the end of the road there is a trailhead to Johnson Lake. I don't recall the distance, but it is a relatively easy hike to the lake. There you will find another tungsten mine and a few ruins. About five years ago another friend camped in the canyon and said the Park Service has improved the camping sites with new tables and pit toilets.

This National Park is in a remote part of Nevada, so it is one of the least visited in the US. We really enjoyed our visit here.

Great Basin National Park is a beautiful park with a lot to offer. I know that you like to hike and you can hike up to the top of Wheeler Peak, as well as many other hikes within the park. There aren't a lot of places to stay in the area, so Hidden Canyon Ranch was a great find.

Very nice dirt road. I'm sure the ford ranger got through just fine. So many great views along the way. Never heard of this Great Basin national park but really enjoyed what you have shown us. It is very beautiful and vast. Hidden Canyon Ranch and the cabins look so nice. Also, great video capture if the deer. Have a great weekend.

Great Basin National Park is one of the least visited in the US, but it is gorgeous. I think the remote location and not much for facilities in the area is why. But the views are gorgeous and Wheeler Peak is stunning. We loved it. Thanks!

Thanks! It was just a little cabin, but it was clean and comfortable and a nice place to stay for a couple of nights while we were in the park.

Driving to the countryside can be super relaxing, being one with nature, retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city.
