Panama City is both, vibrant with a touch of tropical gateways alongside shiny high-rise condos; the mix of cultures provenient from immigration leads to a melange of lifestyles.
Unflinchingly urban, the capital combines traffic jams, wayward taxis and casinos stacked between chic clubs and construction sites. A center of international banking and trade, it has a skyline of shimmering glass and steel towers. In contrast, the peninsula of Casco Viejo has become a hip neighborhood where cobblestones link boutique hotels with rooftop bars and crumbled ruins with pirate lore.

It's so interesting how even the sir looks different closer to the equator
I visited PC a few years back and really flew in just thinking it would be low lying like your average Caribbean island. I was blown away by the skyline. I simply had no idea!

Must be American propaganda. TV makes most of the world look like garbage and crime infested unless you are European country, Canada, USA, Japan. All of it lies. They do that to keep people in slave mindset.

One of the many problems no one addresses is the Panamanian currency. Although Panama has its own currency (the Balboa), however, Panama also uses the U.S. dollar. The Balboa to U.S. dollar exchange rate is 1-to-1, which doesn't make since when it comes to GDP. The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Panama was worth 52.94 billion US dollars in 2020. Compare that to the U.S. GDP in 2020 at $20.93 trillion. So how did the 1-to-1 exchange rate balance off? Someone with subject matter expertise in economy explain this...I am not convinced that Panama is the best or most beneficial place to retire. Healthcare and medical services outside of Panama City is horrible. DO NOT expect hospitals outside of Panama City to have the same quality. Start asking what expats do not like about Panama...

Balboa simply doesn't exist. Is just a romantic way to call the dollar. It's quite a nickname. Wich part of the country doesn't have a good quality hospitals? David city has first world hospitals for instance....
