São Domingos de Benfica is a neighborhood in the city of Lisbon, located in the North of the capital. The neighborhood is home to the worldwide famous Portuguese football team Sport Lisboa e Benfica, know as Benfica for short. You can see the Stadium Sport Lisboa e Benfica in the first minute of the video. Another famous attraction of São Domingos de Benfica is the Lisbon Zoo, which has about 2000 animals of 300 different species.

Nice nostalgia-filled ride for me. My introduction to beautiful Lisboa occurred in Benfica in 1965. You drove by some of my old haunts, Estádio Da LUZ (both the old one and the new), the ZOO, Estrada de Benfica, Fonte Nova, Colombo etc. I have seen the remarkable evolution of the neighborhood since the early 70's. I used to be an avid walker. Imagine me leaving my aunt's house, walking down as escadinhas to Estrada de Benfica, making a left to the Zoo, Sete Rios, Praça de Espanha, Marques de Pombal, Avenida da Liberdade, Rossio, Rua Augusta. You get the drift. And then walk back home. It kept me in shape. Keep up the good work!
