Driving in Algiers - From El Biar to Bir Mourad Rais
Join me as I drive from El Biar to Bir Mourad Rais via La Colonne Voirol. In this video, I'll be driving down a road that goes back to the Ottoman period (between the 16th and the 19th centuries) for even in pre-colonial times (prior to 1830), there were many houses and residences of the rich on that road. My trip ends in a neighborhood whose very name is reminiscent of that period as, in fact, Bir Mourad Rais literally means "Captain Mourad's Water Well." The road goes along the river bed of Oued Hydra. Algiers around Algiers. Enjoy!
