This is a really neat video. The area has changed so much in 20 years. Thanks for posting.
Amazing to see the 401 so "empty".
Thanks for sharing. Surprised to see how much has changed over 20 years. (Great songs in the background too!)
I remember it well. I was just a young man back then. I wish I could go back.
Wow that has changed a lot . I live in Toronto and go to Pickering lots of times. Nowadays the express/collector system, high mast lighting, and 2 lanes exits are there. At the time, Pickering looks like it was a small town.
2:15 i used to live in those APT on the left until "91 the one on the right were condos....
Lots of changes on the 401 30 years later
Highway 401 does change a lot up until now.
The overhead signs and lighting were all replaced during construction. When you say the lights are the same as today must mean the tall lights you see in the first part of the video, which were just being installed new.
Do you remember what kind of video camera it was? I've been looking for one from the 80's or 90's.
Man I wish you got off at westney and about two minutes later you could’ve been videoing me as a 3 year old dammit
Interesting
Do you happen to have any at-grade railway crossing footage from the early 90s?
No wonder there were no express freeway at that time

What's so obvious about there being no express "freeway" (lanes?) at that time?
This footage is amazing. Can I incorporate a small 5-7 second clip of this into my video I am making which shows 401 now and then? (with crediting and linking to your channel)

@@ALuimes I'm so happy! I'll let you know when it is finished. Thank you. It will be cool. What you are doing with your channel is Top Notch - your whole channel and it is really rare and special to have this kind of footage.

I posted it - it's on my channel!
Do you still have the camcorder by any chance?
The campers are still camping on the left lane even in 1992 😂😂😂
Hello! I was wondering if we could use a portion of this video in an upcoming documentary project? Do you have an email I could reach you at?

Go ahead and use it. Just credit me on the corner of the screen with the scene with the footage.

@@ALuimes Hi Andrew! Thank you, but I'm not sure we'll be able to do the on-screen credit. Could you possibly email me so I could share more information with you? I'm at courtmiceli [at] gmail [dot] com :)

@@ALuimes Following up for Courtney. Could you update your "about" section to include your email address so we can reach out to you to discuss? Or Courtney has previously left her email in her comment. We may not be able to add credit to corner of screen but we can credit you in final credit roll. Let's discuss. Thank you!
