This video is great, I have driven into NYC from CT on business a couple of times alongside the Hudson river and into Chinatown and out again, but being the driver you can't take the sights in whilst watching the road. NYC is so much more car friendly than London with restrictive cycle and bus lanes everywhere plus thousands of cameras waiting to catch you out if you make the slightest mistake. I learnt to drive in London in the mid 60's and used to drive in fairly regularly on business up until the 2000's, but not anymore its a nightmare. Driving in the states is more relaxing and less stressful except maybe at peak times. Thanks for a brilliant free sightseeing ride, its as if I am in the passenger seat with you.

It's Manhattan. Those rules don't apply. Plus, there's so much traffic we use all available lanes, otherwise no one will get anywhere. In fact, most rules don't apply to New York City (ex. right on red - you can't do that in NYC).
@liltimshady
Жыл бұрын
@@maxjakobsson8491 Manhattan driving is not for everyone ;) That said, we're more concerned with cars trying to get over on one another, better known as cheating the line. I don't usually mind it if someone's in the left lane, I just pass them and move on with my day. Most New Yorkers have the same mentality, we have places to be and we don't have the energy to get mad if they're not trying to piss us off. Also, this is on a Sunday morning where traffic is relatively light; it's much crazier on the weekdays. Mileage Mike did a great video on driving tips in New York City. It's a good watch and he's mostly spot on with it.
@rg8438

ya, New York is terrible with the left lane. Most of USA understands the left lane is for passing but NY and NJ don't get it. NYC is just terrible period for driving. Very selfish and immature driving culture. It's awful and the amount of honking is absurd. People here are idiots with the horn. The irony with this video, taxicab drivers are the worst here. They create so much traffic and chaos. Pure awful and asshole drivers.

I ride my bicycle across the GWB and down the Hudson Greenway whenever I visit the in-laws in NJ. Watching you in that gridlocked slog north on West St after you exit the tunnel just confirms that I am better off on a bicycle in Lower Manhattan and that if I ever needed to drive a car in Lower Manhattan, I would leave it to the pros like yourself.

Just prepare yourself. Its not as clean as this. Theres a lot of litter and trash in most of the big cities but they try to keep the core parts of the city trash free. Im not saying this to ruin your dream but to lessen the shock once you arrive.

It's Manhattan. Those rules don't apply. Plus, there's so much traffic we use all available lanes, otherwise no one will get anywhere. In fact, most rules don't apply to New York City (ex. right on red - you can't do that in NYC).

It's a good watch and he's mostly spot on with it.

ya, New York is terrible with the left lane.
51:35 - 52:35 The Double Parking Throughout the whole street is crazy! You literally can't even drive though it without going though the double yellow and stuff.

Nice video. These videos would be amazing with a 180 degree camera.
This video is an absolute thrill ride! It's incredible to see the bustling streets, iconic landmarks, and the ever-changing scenery as you navigate the perimeter of the island. The fast-paced energy of New York City really comes to life in this video. I found myself getting lost in the sights and sounds of the city, feeling the excitement of each turn and intersection. Thank you for taking us along on this exhilarating journey around Manhattan. It's a fantastic way to experience the vibrant spirit of the Big Apple! 🗽🌆🚗
Save some time: Play it back on 2X speed.
Interesting fact 2:25 Bridge is the older bridge in the state and one of the older in the country, is older than the brooklyn bridge...The High Bridge.
what an absolutely unbelievable city, it has always been my dream to live in NYC but the housing market would make that impossible lol
Thanks for the ride ❤
Wow we even get to know the temperature.
Was in NYC in February getting my cruise ship before got the cruise spent two days in NYC ( basically on the door step to times square 😂)
Cool video, It's nice to see Manhattan from this perspective. Just 1 question. WTF was going on at around the 19 min mark where there is the massive police, ambulance and fire department presence. Most of them standing around so it didn't seem too serious. It just seems a huge response for something minor.

Hitta nåt billigt hotell så kan du uppleva en vecka i New York för mindre än tio tusen.
