At 25:30-25:48, you pass what's known today as the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. In my days out there, it was known as the San Diego Wild Animal Park. During my school years in the San Diego area, some of the schools I went to, including Sweetwater High School practically on the opposite end of the county, took regular field trips to the Wild Animal Park, sometimes twice a year. In fact, the two most popular places for field trips in my years at Sweetwater High School (1986-'91) were to the Wild Animal Park (now known as the San Diego Zoo Safari Park) and Sea World. It wasn't unusual to make a total of three combined field trips to those two locations annually.

No, they were for the entire group I was in. I was in a special education group, but everyone in our group went on these field trips to both Sea World and the Wild Animal Park. My guess is that part of the reason we went on these trips was to just get away from the boring norm. We also would go on other fun trips which doubled as ways to get exercise, such as trips to a nearby bowling alley, which no longer exists, or to a park, and we would walk to those locations. And I know what you're talking about with GradNight, because I did that in 1991, and that was fun, with one notable exception. That would be having to wear dress shoes, because they destroyed my feet. Of special note, that trip happened at a time when they were beginning the reconstruction of I-5 in Orange County, so I got to see for one final time the old I-5 in Santa Ana and parts of Anaheim before it was reconstructed, meaning we went through the original Orange Crush Interchange. Tustin and parts of Irvine had already been reconstructed by that time, though the old CA-133 trumpet interchange was still in place. I believe the original interchanges with I-405 in Irvine and CA-55 in Tustin were still in use, as well.

Wow, that is good. I'd never say that your low viewed videos can make a few hundred dollars!

Now I can imagine how much money get successful KZreadrs. They are literally swimming in the money. Similar with mod downloading, but my mods never got more than 7000.

Damn you guys were lucky AF. I only went on the field trip to Wild Animal Park like 2-3 times, I was in the San Marco's district. But hey maybe I was just a bad student 🤣

Thank you for posting. I grew up in Rancho Bernardo just south of Escondido during my teens in the 90s. I live in Boise, ID now. I’ve driven CA-78 many times. It’s the year I was born. It gets prettier East of Escondido. That’s just my opinion.

Escondido was not even a city back in the 60s and 70s....I remember Bible Land on 71 back in the day... before the freeway

In California driving 3 hours isn’t that long of a drive.
