Driving from Chiang Mai to Pai is a popular road to see for any traveller looking to explore Northern Thailand. It's full of twists, turns and epic scenic views. We decided to make our own way there on this Northern Thailand scooter road trip so that we could drive this beautiful road at our own pace and stop whenever we liked to see the incredible views.
The road from Chiang Mai to Paid is famous for its 762 turns! It's also known to be a difficult and treacherous road to travel. the Thai government have improved the road conditions, but it is still a dangerous road to travel. If you are not an experienced driver then you can hop on one of the many buses that drive back and forth each day from Chiang Mai to Pai. Having driven quite a lot throughout South East Asia we decided to hop on a scooter and drive the road ourselves and we loved it!
