Driving Downtown Neighborhoods - Georgetown - Washington DC USA - Episode 1.
Starting Point: Pennsylvania Avenue - goo.gl/maps/rLoquXqgJbq . Neighborhood: goo.gl/maps/H1nCSfGuTvL2 .
Georgetown is a historic neighborhood, commercial, and entertainment district located in northwest Washington, D.C., situated along the Potomac River. Founded in 1751 in the Province of Maryland, the port of Georgetown predated the establishment of the federal district and the City of Washington by 40 years.
The primary commercial corridors of Georgetown are the intersection of Wisconsin Avenue and M Street, which contain high-end shops, bars, restaurants, and the Georgetown Park enclosed shopping mall, as well as the Washington Harbour waterfront restaurants at K Street, between 30th and 31st Streets.
Georgetown is home to the main campus of Georgetown University and numerous other landmarks, such as the Volta Bureau and the Old Stone House, the oldest unchanged building in Washington. The embassies of Cameroon, France, Kosovo, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Mongolia, Sweden, Thailand, Ukraine and Venezuela are located in Georgetown.

I mean DC is still basically the South. It's sort of the gateway between the North and the South. I mean I even think Maryland and Delaware are considered "Southern" despite being slavery-permitting Union states during the Civil War.

I've watched a good portion of your videos, and I find I prefer smaller cities (or neighborhoods) with human-scale buildings, such as this one, compared to skyscraper cites. I also enjoy highways/national parks and the supercar series. If you feel like doing the supercar series with a twist, why not Miami with a white Ferrari? ;-)

Nice video! Videos like this allow people to travel the world from home without the hassles and costs of travel. Not criticism, but I'd just like to point out that this covers M and K Streets, Wisconsin Avenue, and the western portion of Georgetown bounded by M Street to the south, P Street to the north, 35th Street to the west, and Wisconsin Avenue to the east. This is roughly a third of the neighborhood - though, importantly, it includes most of the main tourist sites outside of the Georgetown University campus (which you can't drive through). It does not cover the section west of Wisconsin Avenue north of P Street (which includes the beautiful and impressive Duke Ellington School of the Arts, renovated after this video was shot), or the whole half of the neighborhood east of Wisconsin Avenue and north of M Street, which includes beautiful gardens (e.g. Dumbarton Oaks Gardens and Tudor Place), parks (e.g. Montrose Park, Dumbarton Oaks Park, Rose Park), civic buildings (the library and post office), and mansions, which visitors to Georgetown with time to spare should definitely visit. I've just started uploading similar "tour" videos of Washington, DC, though walking, running, and biking, instead of driving.

Love the feedback! Was a little rushed on that video. Hope to re-create it soon! I took a look at your channel and love the idea! Great way to be an ambassador for the area. Just a few thoughts: - Your National Mall video probably has the best chance for views. Starting out, getting views via search is most likely. - Add good Wikipedia metadata so the KZread bots know what video is about :) Short title, relevant tags, and description. - A fuzzy should reduce the wind noise! Something like this. You can probably make something yourself! www.amazon.com/TecUnite-Mini-size-Lavalier-Microphone-Windscreen/dp/B0798NZ23F/ Again - Love the idea. Look forward to seeing more :)

Thanks for the advice and encouragement! The wind noise is obviously a problem (would you believe that this is *after* enabling the wind noise reduction mode on the camera and applying a noise filter in editing software?!) and I definitely plan to apply a physical foam filter of the sort you suggested. I've just started and am still mainly focused on technical issues of filming and editing and wanted to get a library of some halfway-decent content before focusing on getting views and subscribers and search-engine optimization, but I'll definitely look into your Wikipedia metadata suggestion - that's new to me. I figured the National Mall and other common tourist destinations had already been done to death and I should focus more on filming more obscure sites, trail runs, and bike rides (actually I stumbled on your video here just checking on this assumption before filming a walking tour of Georgetown's M Street from end to end), but I may film some more of the common sites if I see any that aren't already covered in 4K videos on KZread.

No Georgetown is not expensive, just get a good job, save up and you will be able to enjoy the pleasures of Georgetown and perhaps after 4-6 years be able to own one of the homes there. it was more expensive to buy a home anywhere in the past then it is today, in colonial times, home to income ratio per year was more severe than today
