Tallahassee is the capital city of the U.S. state of Florida. It is the county seat and only incorporated municipality in Leon County. Tallahassee became the capital of Florida, then the Florida Territory, in 1824. In 2019, the population was 194,500, making it the 7th-largest city in the U.S state of Florida, and the 126th-largest city in the United States. The population of the Tallahassee metropolitan area was 385,145 as of 2018. Tallahassee is the largest city in the Florida Big Bend and Florida Panhandle region, and the main center for trade and agriculture in the Florida Big Bend and Southwest Georgia regions.

Tallahassee is home to Florida State University, ranked the nation's eighteenth best public university by U.S. News & World Report. It is also home to Florida A&M University, the fifth-largest historically black university by total enrollment. Tallahassee Community College is a large state college that serves mainly as a feeder school to Florida State and Florida A&M. Tallahassee qualifies as a significant college town, with a student population exceeding 70,000.
As the capital, Tallahassee is the site of the Florida State Capitol, Supreme Court of Florida, Florida Governor's Mansion, and nearly 30 state agency headquarters. The city is also known for its large number of law firms, lobbying organizations, trade associations and professional associations, including the Florida Bar and the Florida Chamber of Commerce. It is a recognized regional center for scientific research, and home to the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory. In 2015, Tallahassee was awarded the All-American City Award by the National Civic League for the second time.

if you look at 20: 00 , you will see Grace Mission Church on the right, with the mural painted on the side. i used to attend that church when I lived in Tallahassee. i moved in February of this year

You are not kidding it went from a desolate run down area to the nice apartments and shops now. Also Railroad Ave has improved much too.

Yes try filming from Apalachee Parkway driving towards the Capitol. The tall structure with house and senate domed roofs on either side. YES this IS the building that screws the rest of the state from time to time so the phallic symbolism is "politically correct" lmao

@@christopherburleigh9171well there is THAT. It's sad, we're the state capital, the capital of Florida! We have no, beaches, theme parks, water parks, aquariums, pro sports teams, race tracks, major entertainment venues ( the civic center and fair grounds sit vacant most of the time and no one goes when an event actually takes place.), nothing that says, hey, this is the capital, of FLORIDA!!! We have the legislature, the hospitals, the colleges and state jobs, that's about it. Whatever happenings, events, conventions etc did take place have been waylaid by this covid bs. Actually I did see two squirrels chasing each other off Blairstone, that was pretty exciting.

From Orlando live in Miami I can see where you’re coming from although there is not as much to do in Tallahassee its still beautiful with the nature and also hills ! Don’t see much of those in south Florida .

People often take Tallahassee for granted. Everyone always says something like this about their hometown. Think objectively about it, there's a lot of beauty here, but you're just used to it so it's no longer significant. I've lived here since 2000 and I still love the sights on a nice sunny day. To say we lack entertainment is just incorrect, although subjective nonetheless. Plenty of art to see and for those who enjoy sports, the seasons get quite exciting (even when we lose lol). To this day, one of my favorite things to do is go to Sonic for get ice cream and walk around Lake Ella to watch the ducks and the people. Simple, but beautiful; it's the little things in life.

Well to be correct there is FSU and FAMU as well as the college off Applewhite Drive that used to be called Tallahassee Community College but think they changed status and grew. So 3 actually. Super China Buffet on north Monroe is the best in the area if you get hungry, otherwise few doors down is Whataburger!
