My observations: 1. The city is neat and beautiful however sands along the roads must be removed 2. Traffic must be properly managed 3. The city is not dusty like Enugu 4. You hardly see illegal structures along the roads 5. Flyover, pedestrian bridges and other sculptural designs are topnotch 6. The commercial houses along the roads are fantastic 7. The city completely lacks pedestrian pavement. It's common in the South Eastern states with exception of Enugu and present Ebonyi. Thanks for reading

Owerri has nice buildings especially around new Owerri. This is possibly the nicest city in the South East geo-polical zone as far as private development goes but the roads are seriously lacking. I just imagine what the city would have been like if they had the kinds of roads in Abuja, Uyo or Port Harcourt. I really like the arrangement of buildings here as it feels like you're in Utako/Jabi areas of Abuja. Also like the fact that you don't see keke on major roads. I think Owerri will look really good with well paved roads and decals. Introduction of BRT kind of buses here to replace the short buses will certainly elevate the look and feel to Abuja levels perhaps. Finally they should choose a certain section of new Owerri and designate as CBD where structures are not less than 12 stories high and also include a nice city park like the Port Harcourt pleasure park. And voila, Owerri will be an envy by all Nigerians

Owerri is such a cool and beautiful city. I was there last year and I really loved it. People are just full of hate. Funny thing is, these same people are from places like Onitsha, Nnewi and Awka. Which are the true definitions of a disorganized and unplanned city. Thumbs up bro 👍

I am even from Uruala Imo state. Let's be sincere to ourselves, Onitsha and Awka are by far better than Owerri, that's why you have more Imo indigenes living in Anambra but there may not be a single Anambra indigene living in Imo state. Owerri is an unplanned disjointed disorganized dilapidated dirty jungle. I still maintain that Owerri and Aba are not different from each other. Let the truth reign

You don't have a solid argument here. First of, I've met quite a handful of Anambra people who reside and earn a living in Owerri. But what does Imolites living in Anambra have to do with the fact that Owerri is a beautifully organized and planned city. There are a number of reasons why some Imolites would chose Anambra over Imo, and one of them being the fact that it is a commercial hub in the south east just like Aba. Owerri is more of an administrative and less of a commercial city. Owerri is a tourist hotspot. So anybody who's into business and commerce would unarguably chose Onitsha or Anambra over Owerri. Aren't there lots of Enugu people living in Onitsha, Nnewi and Awka? Does that deny the fact that Enugu is more beautiful than those cities? Secondly, Owerri has more spacious and clean roads. I stayed at Onitsha, they don't have the kind of wide roads in Owerri. For a commercial city, that's a big failure. And thirdly, the city is not organized. Just old, rugged buildings littered all over the place with the worst drainage system and no space for ventilation. Everywhere is choked up. I don't even want to go to Nnewi, that one is the worst of them all. Awka itself looks nothing like a state capital. Sorry bro, I know you're entitled to your opinion but it's Owerri for me.

@@frankstevens4568 lol just see this one crying and foaming in the mouth because of some bitter truth. Mind you I am not even from Anambra, but truth be told, Owerri is a total mess like Aba. Onitsha by far has better wide road networks, planning, organisation than Owerri can ever have. Owerri is a tiny village compare to Onitsha, no wonder most Imolites are trooping to Anambra, particularly Onitsha to live. Almost all the roads in Owerri are dilapidated and littered with filth. There are so much shanties all over Owerri. Onitsha, Enugu, Awka, Asaba, Abakaliki, Umuahia are the best cities in igbo land. Owerri even as a state capital cannot compete with those cities in good roads, neat environment, organisation and planning. Owerri is a complete shithole with dilapidated roads, disorganized dirty environment, planlessness, choked, slums, etc. These are some of the reasons Imo indigenes are running to live in Anambra, Enugu even Abia. Owerri is a disgusting place. You can't compare a jungle like Owerri to cities like Onitsha, Enugu, Awka, Asaba, Umuahia, Abakaliki, etc. Ordinary Google earth shows that Onitsha is the best planned city in the east followed by Enugu. Even Aba has far better planning than Owerri. Aba is the only town that can be compared to Owerri, because they both have so.much bad roads and filth of highest magnitude. Owerri is typical rough jungle with dilapidated roads, filthy environment, armed robbers, prostitutes, kidnappers, etc. Owerri is a dungeon, that's why most igbos don't ever want to live in Owerri. You can't find someone from Anambra, Enugu, etc, living in Owerri, but conversely people from Imo are found in their millions on those states. There's nothing touristic about Owerri because the town is very dirty and has almost 90% bad road, what we have in Owerri is just large army of prostitutes. Stop confusing prostitution with tourism. Owerri is the worst state capital in igbo land and Niger Delta, it doesn't even look resemble something remotely like a state capital. Okigwe is still a hamlet, Orlu is another village. Overall, imo state is a total shambolic mess. Sorry if it pains you so much but we must always tell ourselves the truth at all times. Imo state is today the poverty and unemployment capital of Nigeria. It is something to worry about. Ordinary FLYOVER Owerri doesn't even have a functional one. What a shame. Owerri is best described as a village. Our leaders in Imo state should start fixing the state to be able to catch up with Anambra and Enugu states, even ebonyi is better than Imo state right now. Lets be truthful for once.

@@evideostv You are a typical Anambra man, stop lying about where you come from. Owerri is second most beautiful place in the whole of South East. You can cry for all you care, we are more organised city. Where in Onitsha that is well organised than owerri? Is is Ogbaru, obosi, or Awada? You don't know the difference between a commercial city and administrative city. Where are the bad roads in the video, one can easily perceived jealousy in you. I have lived in Onitsha before, Awada to be precise it can't be compared with owerri in anyway. Onitsha is the most dangerous place to live in the whole of South East. Owerri is beautiful and well organised city than your glorified village without planning Onitsha. Owerri is a tiny city but over 43 minutes he have been driving smoothly, can this be done in your Onitsha? Our owerri is beautiful and neat, go and deal with it.

Thanks for the video Eboh media. Owerri just like other Igbo cities require serious urban renewal. The whole place is chaotic lacking in traffic management. The buildings lack any particular architectural design and style. Cities need Mayors and city council for effective management. Rather the governors usurp all the powers and in the end fail to manage the cities efficiently. In the mean time, Owerri needs serious traffic management. That can be accomplished by deploying traffic lights all over the city, marked lanes , and designation of one way traffic roads. And most importantly, NO STREET TRADING AND HAWKING! It makes the cities ugly and unkempt.

Just look @what he built and called tunnel, does that look the tunnels we see elsewhere, even the roads he built few years ago and now riddled with potholes. This city really need complete urban renewal, to make it look better.

I quite agree, Owerri has serious potential to be a beautiful place, no question! I am a firm believer of local or municipal governments ( or councils) whose sole responsibility should be to oversee development and maintenance of our Nigerian cities and towns ! A state governor can’t do it all by himself!

There is constructive criticism, there is hatred. Owerri is not a shithole. Just like every other Nigerian city, it has its own challenges with regards to proper governance and infrastructure. The level of division and hatred between us (Igbos) makes it difficult to see us as one (I wonder how Biafra will be achieved though, with this?). I can vividly tell by some commenters whose state of origin has always made them have superiority complex over other Igbos and measure their standards against others (I may be wrong though, but I have always encountered them online). Jeez! You are full of hate for your fellow Igbo tribe, see the good in others just as Eboh Media is doing. As bad Ekiti and Osun, you can NEVER, I repeat you can NEVER see an Oyo or Lagos indigene call those places shithole. Same goes for the North. @Eboh Media God bless you for projecting the good in us despite how bad the situation is. Dumb hatred filled comments from people like this could hinder investment in Igboland. Remember investment in any part of Igbo land, is an investment for ALL IGBOS!!!! MARA IHE!

You said it the way it is, I have watched Enugu state on this channel, they have good roads and trees no doubt about it, but you hardly see new or modern structures alone the roads except in the estate, but that doesn't mean I will start calling it all sorts of bad names. Most of our Igbos hatred for Imo State is unbecoming. One can easily see envy and jealousy in their hearts, but it doesn't change anything about how beautiful owerri is.

@@charleschukwudi4777lets be very sincere Onitsha by far has better wide road networks, planning, organisation than Owerri can ever have.
