Driving a ground rod with a rotary hammer drill!
Ойын-сауық
Bosch 18-Volt 1-9/16” SDS Max Rotary Hammer Drill really helps drive ground rods with its 5.2 ft.-lbs. of impact energy! It packs a punch! Check it out at Lowe’s. #lowespropartner #LowesxBosch

It moved exactly 2 inches. After this impressive demo, I am not going to get one. Milwaukee, I am coming.

He didn’t try hard enough🤣 I am a Milwaukee guy myself to the core but I’ve used this bad boy and it drives the ground rods faster than a SDS Max. and I have the 8.0a battery. Also this thing thing cost a couple hundred more so I had to stick to Milwaukee 🤣

Not positively impressed at all. Clearly Bosch didn't sponsor this short 🙄

For SDS max, I would expect it to hit a little harder but those ground roads are pretty hard to drive in sometimes
Umm...im no Bob villa but I don't think it's doing its job there buddy

Afte that demo, BOSCH is wondering why the stockpiles are not moving.
Had me for the first 5 seconds lol
I used a pvc pipe with the ground rod inside. Attaced a garden hose to the top of the pipe. The water booared the hole as the ground rod went in.
We use a corded Makits Demo hammer that weighs 30lbs. We put it on top of 10ft ground rods
I mean it moved roughly a foot or more for like 7 seconds of driving not god awful. As an electrician I prefer the Milwaukee SDS Plus for this
Probably hit a pipe.
I just use a terminal post tamper the few times I've needed to tap a ground rod. May not be the greatest solution out there but worked well enough for me
We use a Hilti SDS plus, goes right through those pesky underground water lines.
I got a Bosch 34xgb-45axt55al/cga series xs 48volt hammer drill here
Yea it looked good at first but I think it's time to pull out the post driver or the good Ole sledge hammer. Works everytime.
Techtronic Industries of Hong Kong China owns Milwaukee and Ryobi tools. Hasn't been American since probably 1995. Dewalt is at least owned by Stanley Black and Decker.
One time somebody backfilled badly and got rid of the marks after we installed a sewer line, then the sparkles came in. Drove it right through the brand new main lol. They were really apologetic and it wasn’t even their fault. They bought our crew a round at the bar after work and it was all good. Fixed it in less than a day.

thanks! I got the Bauer equivalent for this
So, ummm, we're you going to drive that in or just hold it there? Based on your dem, Bosch doesn't have the ass it needs to do the job

Why would you upload a fail videos 😅 just make a new one
He needs a bigger drill for that terrian. No 1" 1/8th drill would work.
Too small of a hammer for this. We usually use the biggest corded demo hammer we have available. In dry rocky soil it takes a 60 pound demohammer to get it to move.
Try an M18 SDS Max, it will actually do the job
Did it go in?
You dont need rotary, just hammer mode .

Nice bit
Hit a rock?
Put some water in the hole and you can push it in by hand

Yeah nah
As he drives a hole through the oil tank that's not a utility
Any rotary hammer should be able to do that.
Think we use a hammer in the end
This new 1-9/16” seems to be in an odd place power ratio wise. Meanwhile, their SDS plus that is close to this size is overpowered in my opinion.
Correct me if I'm wrong but it looked like it stopped driving before you did. Honestly not a big Bosch fan to begin with so if I am spending that kind of money I will stick with Milwaukee their 12.0 high out put batteries are unbeatable.

Bosch, Hitachi(Metabo) and Makita make the best tools for concrete/brick/stone work. I have many years of experience in all trade fields and worked with all tools and thats what Ive seen. Milwaukee doesnt come close to woodworking tools with DeWault and hard surface tools with Bosch. P.s. this is coming from a Milwaukee fiend.

Dam these exist I hammered mine this weekend 😂
That’s not an 8’ ground rod
I'm truly wondering what the Ryobi HP rotary hammer will do here... That isn't impressive at all

Try a hammer... This guy probably stirs his tea with a combi drill
Yeah I just used a hammer
Did not even drive it in all the way!!!
We drive copper rod for ground rod...
2 hours later...
Need to add some weight on it
My ridgid sds plus can drive a 10’ ground rod a hell of a lot faster than that

You've never drove groundrods. A jackhammer without the bit in it works best. Rotary hammer works unless you hit rock.
