Kelly, a bead reamer is used to gently increase the size of a hole in the bead. I wouldn't use it to create new holes only to make the current hole slightly larger.

I use mine for wood beads. Sometimes the holes aren't opened completely.

The materials with the pearl beads are bead crimpers and they're used by making a little loop at both ends of jewelry wire while making a necklace. You make little hoops at the end and crimp the bead crimpers to keep the hoop in place to add jump rings for clasps and jewelry extensions

Kelly a bead reamer is used to gently open the hole on a bead when it’s blocked. Perhaps by a piece of crystal or it didn’t fully open when being made. #beadbuddies
