Driveway Oil Stain Removal Muriatic Acid

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

finally, we find a solution. Because we did this scientifically, you will need to first use tide, bleach, dawn, paint thinner and brake parts cleaner in the exact opposite order. My apologies. Muriatic acid for the win!

my grandfather would do this. would just pour it right out the bottle onto the sidewalk and brush it with a broom. i remember seeing it foam up and asking him what the smell was and he would say its acid. I remember saying it doesnt look like its burning anything, and said it wouldnt burn me. He smirks and says go ahead and see. so ofc i stepped in it with my foot and felt it growing warm and started to panic and cry. he had the hose in his hand and was ready to wash it off but not before laughing and saying "bet you wont do that again"

Good job. For those that keep yelling about diluting it, I say BS. First off the product is not being used for its intended purpose so dilute it to what? Lol you dilute it according to the stain. If the stain is 5 years old vs 5 weeks will determine when or if you need to dilute it. Once again, good job

I have used Muriatic acid for a long time to clean seashells and coral and unless that percentage is way high it’s not as dangerous as you might think. But anyway regardless I think you’ve traded dark stains for white stains I don’t think either one looks good. There’s got to be something better still. I know there is a powder that you can sprinkle and it causes the stain to appear to disappear I used it on a commercial driveway parking garage and it looked amazing but I think it’s some type of camouflage but it worked and I believe it is permanent some thing that bonds with the oil and looks like cement.

It etched that Nad because you did straight acid ^'**% you should dilute 1 part acid to 8 to 10 parts water in a plastic sprayer. Pre wet the concrete, then spray an area, use a scrub brush on a broom handle preferably then let go no more than 3 mins. Spray off with hose. (Do not do large areas, but areas about 6x6 or 8x8 at largest 1 at a time)

@@EagleRun23 Hydrochloric Acid is highly corrosive (even in the form of Muratic Acid which is already diluted by around 29%) To use it properly it should still be diluted an additional minimum of 8 parts water to 1 part Acid for masonry. If you only wash it away with water, it's still a corrosive material (example: if you put a human in it, they will liquify) When you add a base to is, for instance Sodium Bicarbonate (baking soda) it changes the ions in the acid and after the reaction your left with sodium chloride.. aka table salt.

You should wet the concrete down first . And you should mix with water usually 10 to 1 ratio is sufficient to clean Concrete and you should always wear gloves and eye protection . And as strong as you’re putting it on there you should neutralize it with baking soda after you scrub it. This video is worse than watching a child play with a loaded handgun

This is incredibly irresponsible. You should never put acid onto a surface like that without neutralizing it before you flush it. But there’s a much better way to get oil stains out of concrete. Take Dawn dishwashing detergent, pour some on all over the oil spill at full strength and do not add any water. Take a broom and scrub the Dawn over the oil stain and into the concrete. Now then walk away. Leave it. Don’t rinse it away or anything. Just leave it on there and let it work. In two weeks, the oil stain will be completely gone and you will not be flushing any hazardous chemicals down the driveway into the environment.
