- The Driver series is not a GTA clone, which you could tell from the title and how the series generally is about driving. - The general opinion critics had about the direction Driv3r and Driver Parallel Lines have gone with was: while they did try to give more freedom to the player; the gameplay (and the feel of it), and amount of content wasn't on par with the games at the time. - Driv3r had Miami and Nice and Istanbul. - The Driver series and GTA series did a fun back and forth easter eggs, you can probably find some videos about :) - All the Driver games had campaign/a story.

Driver parallel lines might not be everyone's favourite but it has sentimental value to me. I adore it, the story is nice and i love the way you switch from the 70s to the 2000s, so you kind of got 2 games in 1, you get different cars and the whole atphosmere is different, still, driver san francisco is 100% the best one in the franchise, i loved the car deformation, the graphics are good and the tyre smoke is really advanced for it's time too, just overall an amazing game and i wish they revived this series again... I really enjoyed this video and i hope you continue doing these types of videos!

Driver became Watch Dogs. That's pretty much what happened to it. I believe there was another Driver in development and then Ubisoft pulled everyone over to Watch Dogs, and the very basic game that was built for Driver was used for Watch Dogs. Not an entire rebranding, more of a rebuild. But it does explain the jank of the first Watch Dogs.

You forgot the original Stuntman, which has earnt the label of the hardest racing game ever. It's basically a tech demo for Driv3r
I actually downloaded the mobile driver game way before it got delisted (granted, was a lot younger). The game was fine, but was kind of weird considering the console game’s core gameplay. It also had this weird “dating” system where after some races, you could flirt with characters to get rewards. I hated and didn’t like it, even as a child. Fun fact: due to I’m assuming the server being offline and it being delisted off of stores, all ingame purchases are now completely free after the tutorial. So, you can pretty much splurge your all of the in-game currency and instantly unlock all the boats and fully upgrade them, including the side content. This makes the game incredibly easy and you just don’t even need to try winning due to your fully upgraded boats against the default ones.
One of the first games i ever purchased with my own money. Absolutely love driver series
After I discovered the cheat codes for Parallel Lines, I spent so much time upgrading and testing every car om the circuit, it was very fun

Driver San Francisco is great. Still play it on 360 with my boys today and they love it. You didn’t mention that it totally changed the gameplay by eliminating the whole getting out and walking around thing. You sort of quantum leap into any vehicle you like and take over that vehicles drivers body. The driving physics are better than most games even today. The story is quite clever and I you get good at swapping bodies you can leapfrog like crazy from vehicle to vehicle to take people down. It deserves to be resurrected.
Imo Ubisoft had killed the Driver series (discontinuing development and release of new titles) mostly because TC2 and also The Crew Motorfest being considered as their 'money maker' for the racing series, like it or not. But tbh I still liked the Driver series, I still had Driver San Francisco installed on my PC and sometimes played it - imo the game's just unique on its own way, don't forget that you can also commandeer normal NPC/civilian cars, buses and trucks.
