Switch out the light control to add foglights, saw the dummy plug and knew it was for another accessory and it dawned on me that it might be for a DIC and your video confirmed that fact..thanx

Dude, I've had a theory that the harness is just laying behind the panel for years. I asked the guys at the Chevy dealer if it's possible to just add the switch panel and they said absolutely not. I've never gotten around to pulling the panel to check to see if the wiring was there. 6 years later I had a random thought to Google it and here you are making dreams a reality. Thank you for posting this

glad I found your channel. I wanted to do these things to mine. I don't understand why some models that are the same (like LT) will have this option and other don't have it. I am doing this next then the radio controls!! thanks!!

Wow. So excited. I just bought an 08 silverado and was trying to figure out why the remote start button doesn't start the vehicle. Then I find that my interior lights don't come on with the door. So I started reading and read about dic. THEN I find your awesome channel and am headed to the junkyard for the dic buttons! Hopefully I'll figure out the other stuff soon.( probably obtain a tech 2 maybe?) But boy I want the tire pressure options as the light came on. Can't wait to watch all your silverado videos. man i have a 2010hd too, i knew the wires were back there as a dummy plug and i always wondered if i could add the buttons... i watched this video and was a little concerned caues our trucks dont have the same options as in the video before the upgrade.. im so glad you posted a comment. im ordering the pieces now!! Great video. I just checked my WT and it has the connection. I ordered one on Amazon for $50. I just added a cabin air filter to a 2012. But like you I wanted all this information and now I will hopefully get it. Thank you!

Great video. I did this a few years back and one of the things this WILL NOT do is disable the automatic door locking. That is one feature I really wanted for dropping guys off at jobsites or hunting spots. I had to pay the chevy dealer $70 to keep the doors from locking at speed or out of park.

+jack handy thats odd...I have that ability on mine now.

Just did this and the Steering wheel controls upgrade. $40 in used parts for everything and added a bunch of value and convenience to my Truck. So nice to have the tire pressures. But Damn I was hoping the Bluetooth would have worked after the install. I can store numbers via voice commands but no Bluetooth.

That's awesome. The fog lights require the bcm to be programmed. It's a little more in depth

I just bought a 2018 GMC Savana 6.0 a few months ago , I just noticed this a few days ago and didnt know what the heck it was , my 2002 GMC Savana did not have this , Now i Know !!

I have followed your videos and done a few things on my 2007 GMC Sierra new body style such as the DIC and the steering wheel radio control. I have a question, I am wanting to install the outside rearview mirrors with the turn signals built in. would the wiring be there for this?

I was curious I watched both this video and how to add steering wheel controls on the Chevy Silverado I was curious cause I did both of the installs already and turned out to be successful thanks to you. BTW guy on ebay selling the trim and button for 23 bucks. Probably can't get it cheaper than that but I'm going to look for the steering controls too. But heads up for others who want to do the dic buttons.

My 2011 only has the two smaller gauges in the cluster, not the four. Only cruise on the lift side of the steering wheel. Nothing on the right. Will this work for me.. 2011 gmc Sierra with 4.8.

Not sure how I came across this “mod” but I have a barebones 07 nnbs reg cab short bed (no AC..only heat controls) so I ran outside to look behind the bezel lo and behold the plug is there…the only features I currently have are miles, trip, Trans temp and oil life %

its on the right side of the steering wheel. Left side of center hvac vents. The switch is the same part number but the housing is not.

TWA Motorsports So after doing some research last night i figured out that my truck (2012 Sierra SLE All Terrain Edition) only offered the DIC in the slt and not my truck. I’m going to pop the trim bezel off and see if the plug is even there. Looks like I’ll either have to cut the hole myself or replace the trim bezel with one for the slt/ltz Tahoe trim. Unless you know of a kit for it that i haven’t been able to locate yet.

I pulled the bezel off of my 2007 Silverado but am not finding that particular wiring harness that would plug into the DIC switch. Was that harness only available on late model 2007 Silverados and later, as I believe I have the 1500 classic LT body?

@@TWAMotorsports I actually found the harness. It was connected to a dummy retaining clip on the original bezel, which I thought was the light switch at first. I just ordered the new bezel with DIC controls from Amazon for $72 which I'll be installing this weekend.
