    Really enjoying these fitting videos. Have watched nearly all of the videos in the channel library. They are sensational, Simon really is at the top of his profession. Can't wait for my full bag review in mid February with Simon. I'm sure the travel down from Newcastle will be worth it! KUTGW

    Great fitting. Percentage-wise, this is one of the biggest ball speed gains I’ve ever seen for a good, single-digit player. Great fitter can unlock a little extra club head speed which leads to more potential distance!

    Hi Simon. Can you elaborate a bit more on what it was about the Hzrdus that was just getting that bit more performance than the Ventus Red? Presumably same overall weight - was balance/profile much different?

  • @Precision_Golf

    @Precision_Golf

    8 ай бұрын

    The Hzrdus is a fraction lighter but the slightly less tip heavy balance allowed a bit more speed - everything just clicked with that shaft for him

    Well done great fitting he needed a new driver tbh and big gains for him👌...simon whats your thoughts on OEM fitting days ..is it a selling day ? I.e. quick fitting and boom your done this works as the ones at my club give you 30min fit not sure this is beneficial to majority of golfers do they actually provide any benefit 🤷 ..great vid keep.up.the good work

    Thank you! It is a lot better than just buying blind and there is guidance. Ultimately they can only fit you with the limited tools they have so cannot be as in depth as we are able to go so 30 minutes is not unreasonable, however they also want to see as many people as possible too!

    I abandoned my 45 1/4” Diamana GT 50 SR & TSi1 with a 20g in the back In search of distance. This setup was a true fairway finder but high and spinny so maxed out at 260. I’ve shifted to a 45 3/4” Diamana TB 40S & a triple diamond head. I now get 300 out of it but more often than not, I get the sensation of the hands breaking down and I hit low heel shots. Just wondering if you think this is more to do with the balance of the TB vs the GT or the 40S verses 50 SR Shaft Weight

  • @Precision_Golf

    @Precision_Golf

    Most likely the lighter shaft and longer length. Certainly a happy medium to be found though! If you still have the Diamana GT50 then you could try putting a Callaway tip on it and using it with the Triple Diamond head!

    @@Precision_Golf I was hoping to keep the fairway finder in play and just get another shaft for the Triple Diamond but some indoor waggling has led me to believe there’s something with CG of the Triple Diamond head that means it doesn’t track square through at impact, rather it’s like I’m dragging it closer to my body that results in a low heel shot

    We used Pro V1 so quite a low spinning ball to begin with and we would not want to negatively affect iron play by losing too much spin

    Hi Simon . Would you say that tsr2 is more draw bias than tsr3 . I used tsr3 10 last season but struggled with off Center hits and low spin . I went to tsr2 10 degree and now tend to miss left with it . Also I have not noticed much difference in spin and launch between the 2 models . Spin around 2200 , launch 12 and +5 attack angle . Swing speed 103-105. These fitting videos are class . Great job

    TSR2 is not really more draw biased but the CG further back can create a little more rotation in some players but not naturally draw biased. Spin-wise they are similar (albeit very slightly higher in the TSR2 but only a couple of hundred rpm). The TSR series, particularly the TSR2, is lower launching than the TSI series. Glad you are enjoying the videos!

  • @Precision_Golf

    The Driver was the S flex - different to the irons as the slightly lighter weight in the R flex iron shaft (he is longer than standard) helped timing versus the stiff

    We normally try to once we get to an optimum setup in order to give the comparison again so if we did not on this one then apologies. If the change in set up is big enough then there might not be a need to (ie large change in loft of the head) as the difference is obvious. Thanks for watching!

    Having watched a large number of these and I’m begining to see a recurring pattern. I’m guessing you could find the top three shafts using the Mizuno swing optimiser and the per haps try a few specialist shafts not available on the optimiser. Then you’d be done. The difference between the shafts would be very little but the coustomer might get exactly what they need. The customer wouldn’t have to hit shafts that are clear new not suited to their swing characteristics. I think the above would be a simpler and more scientific way to fit. I wonder what the advantages are for not fitting as I suggest above. 🤔

  • @Precision_Golf

    @Precision_Golf

    7 ай бұрын

    The Mizuno optimiser is only relevant for their own offering but also does not give any hint as to how someone moves and what weight is suitable for them so as a reference/start point for their own shafts it is good but with all the shafts we carry the options it throws out are often to wide in spec to be of real use (eg it gave one player a Dynamic Gold and a Nippon 950 as options and they are 35g difference so one is clearly a very long way from being suitable). The process has to find some shafts that are not right in order to confirm what does work but the aim is always to get to that point as quickly as possible. Feel will always play a part too so it is a mixture of both science from a biomechanics and levers point of view as to what weight produces the most efficiency and a human element of what someone’s preference is. If there were a straight formula we would definitely all be using it

    3 appropriate heads and 7 carefully selected shafts, there was plenty of testing Norman. There must be interaction with the client to make them feel comfortable and not rushed. However, many thanks for your feedback.
