I had a three day course with my test on day four. I passed first time with 5 minor faults but have to say was nervous all the way round the test. Good luck to all that are waiting or in process of doing :-)
i passed my lgv and cpc about 2months ago, i start a job monday... so for those that say that you can't get work i think you gave up to easy! sure you will get alot of firms saying 2yrs xp, if you want the job enough you will find one, every agency that i asked said no, i wrote my CV out explaining i have only just passed my lgv and sent it to all the haulage companys around my area and within a month, the first interview i got i was offered the job.. just keep trying
Contrary to all the negative stuff I read on here, it is possible to get jobs out there. This whole process started for me in March this year and ended in September, from theory to passing the final practcal. It took me untill my third attempt to pass my cat C license, it then took me two attempts to pass my C+E. Yeah it's hard and dissapointing not doing it all first time, however you can do it! And now I start my first HGV job in December for a supermarket chain. Good luck! :)
when employers ask for 2 years experience, i want to punch their face, where do we get the experience from? everything have to start from Zero,
I have already gone through this horrific ordeal once before when I passed my trailer test in order to obtain my B&E class. Now I'm revising for my HGV theory test and know I'm going to have to go through it all again soon enough! It really is horrible and the examiners do NOT make it any easier, as they are so serious and straight laced. But I suppose they have to take it very seriously at all times. I know exactly what that feeling of finding out that you've passed feels like and can't wait to hear those words when I go for my C class and my C&E class.
Well today after 3 test I've passed my test with 4 minor faults.
I remember doing this test 14 years ago. Butterflies in my stomach!
note to all those doing their HGV getting a job is possible if you keep at it ,alot of these people posting negative comments are working in the industry and don't want to see new drivers. In the market .If you want to work in the industry go for it after all no industry worth anything is easy to get into.
the lorry was a sleeper cab, never heard of one having a single seat fitted instead of bed, but he was still not wearing a seat belt
The good thing about the HGV test is that the reverse and braking exercise are done in the test yard and are pretty easy. Once you get them out the way you should be fairly relaxed for the road part of the test
It is a big step from a 7.5tonner to an 18tonner. I was a bit cocky when I went for my class 2 training because of my experience as a 7.5t driver but soon realised that it was going to be a steep learning curve.
Good video which explains the test very well just like mine for class 2 and 1
Passed at first time with 5 minor mistakes today. All went smooth.
@stobartteam sounds good, just passed my class1 (3rd time lucky for me) and doing my cpc module 4,
I passed my class 2 today I'm well chuffed! Got my class 1 after I've done my mod 4 cpc! Then it's time to hunt that first job!
Passed my theory last week and just wanted to get some ideas about some training cmp in north london ?
This is very helpful if i want to be a lorry driver!! well im thinking to be one if i don't get enough qualifications. anyway thanks for this video!!
very cool * well done *
Do you still have to parallel park these things to pass the test?
@Thescalemodeler1718 Yes you can drive a 7.5 ton 'Puddlejumper' and from there you can progress up to an artic.
Do I get C1 automatically when pass C?
can anyone tell me where i can find revision for the official DSA theory test for drivers of large vehicles
@MrJonnyboyification have you tried with all the agency's? what area are you in mate?
can anyone help me on class 1 reverse as I cant do it. Any instructions on how to do the reverse on the test. please someone help with detailed instructions.
@pollouk The trucking industry used to pay well. When big companies started to lower the wages other companies started to join in. Some drivers are still on £10 + an hour but right now the trucking industry is not the best to be in for money at the moment.
@Nmiah70 best was is join an agency they will take on new drivers, and yes all companies require 2 years min exp
@colmaniac But you can't have 2 years experience before you get your first job!! I don't understand that rule.
passed my class 1 last week 3 minors, been looking at jobs everyone says atleast 2 years experience even the agencies, might get a job driving class 2 first, then go from there
Hi, I'm thinking of doing it but not sure about getting job as new driver. I talked to couple of driving schools here in coventry and they charge about £2300 to £2500 for 5 day training...for both c and c+e....any advice on price and getting job welcomed..thanks.
insureance for haulage companies costs more but a production company with their own trucks its cheaper for them so try places like that
Back in 2006 I did a 5 day HGV 2 training course, passed my test!! :-) did a one day HI-AB training course and got a licence and certificate for that!! :-) and recently got a digital tachograph card aswell. can i get a HGV job? 5 years on and still no luck. Everywhere i ask im told i need to have atleast 2 years HGV driving experience! :-/ and that its not what i know its who i know etc :-/
@mattbfc2009 im in the walsall west midlands area and am registered with 4 agencies now.
passed my class 2 few weeks over the moon
@SuperScaniatopline yes you do now before you take the test

Dean Peters I did my PSV test not long a go, I found that easy after my nerves calm down, But I am now looking to do my HGV test in a few months, Any tips?
viertle?
@b1a2s3i4r5 yout best bet would be to start off with a agancy
Funny you should say that, saw a C+E job plus ADR job advertised, expected night work, in Manchester, offering minimum wage for what is at a bare minimum 3k worth of training. Get paid more to stack shelves at a supermarket without qualifications.
I've got this on Friday and although I've only done 2 days driving I'm bricking it because I don't feel anywhere near ready

eatthisvr6 well done man :) good job on not giving up
got my practical test today am well nervous
@Thescalemodeler1718 yes you can, they have changed the law to allow you to do it at 18. im doing mine next week, and im only 20. chris
I hate when that kind of thing happens. It's an infinite loop. You need 2 years experience to get the job but no one will give you the experience you need. I recommend lying. That works. lol
wow memorys!!!! i did class 1 and 2 here

I did too and also have the HIAB as well as ADR in packages and tanks. I can't get a job. Worst money I have ever spent.
Nice video, but when you been at it a bit, you will wish that you never past you eye sight test never mind the LGV test. Never ending day, long hour, not time to play when you have your to bloody tired. I would sell my licence any day of the week. Steve LGV drive
at 7.16 he will not pass ( cars cant get in and out )
Got my test in Ipswich tomorrow.
Did anybody notice that the examiner was sat on the bed and not in the seat. Its illegal to use the bed as a seat, the bed can only be used if the truck is double manned and the 2nd driver is sleeping. The examiner should have been in the passenger seat with wearing the seat belt. The driver can be fined if the passenger is not sat in the correct seat with his seat belt on.

no he ent sittin on a bed he is sittin on the back single seat it ent a bed at all lol
Is he Australian?
That bloke looks like Benny from Crossroads.
£360 that includes the truck and the pre test lesson also
safety safety safety..all they go on about, never use to be this sad
@p66ugh I love you
Firstly it is a Criminal Offence to LIE about having 2 years experience when in reality you don't have any. Secondly they will ask you for your previous employers reference and name and number so that they can verify this.
The HGV is indeed a hard test. I was told the hardest part is doing the test. The test is hard, but finding a job is far harder, if not, impossible.

Ah right OK, thanks for explaining 1100HondaCB.
you find a job yet? just passed my theory today
£7 an hour for not seeing my wife, woo hoo where I sign?
try kissing the examiner
I have a class one and two HGV as well as the ADR. I.ve had all this for seven years and paid over £3000 for it. Shocking thing is, I can't get a job. I really regret doing it. My advise is don't bother.
Quitter. We know you haven't been looking that hard.
you failed four times!!
money making business... I've failed 4 times, each with the same examiner (whom i know) it sucks BIG TIME!! kissing the kerb and i mean kissing. 4 minor faults.. is it coz i iz a woman?? lol
All of this for £9 per hour lol.
wow wee you can now earn £7 an hour and never go home lol
@stobartteam sounds good, just passed my class1 (3rd time lucky for me) and doing my cpc module 4,
