Driven Pheasant Shooting - Beaters Day

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

This is the first of my two beaters days at the end of the season. I opted to be a walking gun in the hope of catching out some of the crafty pheasants that had learnt to fly back over the beating line....as you will see I really wasn’t that successful...my shooting was worse than normal so please be kind with your comments! All that said I had a great time and Ted throughly enjoyed himself....

Afraid Nick we all have the off day, trouble is there is no explaining why! But as you said, still a very enjoyable day.

Brilliant video, i laughed, why because all of us mere mortal shooters have days like this when we miss most of the time, Of course we could rely on Ted to do a cracking job.

Thanks for sharing Nick. Sadly, I think we all have a day like that at some point. Stills beats the alternative not being there or worse being at work.

Always blame it on the rubber shot, just bounces off them. That's what an old fellow I used to hunt ducks with used to say. The thing is you were out there entertaining your chums Nick, I'm sure they enjoyed having you there, and Ted always has fun.

Your dog is trained very well, very nice puppy! By the way, your shooting behind almost every bird in the ones you don't shoot behind your shooting over the top! Also I don't know if you shoot with one eye closed but you should be shooting with both eyes open. This is indicative of people that shoot behind birds. Hope this doesn't offend you because everyone does this at some point.

6.10 Why would you give the command “leave it” on what was a clearly wounded bird? I’d have my dog straight on to that in order to dispatch it quickly. Luckily your dog ignored you.

Your stabbing at them rather than bringing your gun through the line of the bird and shooting ahead of them. When you take stab shots you are always behind them.Nice dog though.
