    It is very nice to see You in a hunting. I'm a hunter from Poland, and I'm glad that You are understand and respect our "hunting policy" It is a very sad to say, but some of our colegues which are coming for hunt to Poland, they are just to come for shuting like on western movie, and don't care completly about noting- safet, population etc. it is a great movi what can be a lesson for other specially young hunters also form our beautifull country. with a traditional Polish greetings DARZ BÓR

    What I like is that you are a very ethical hunter. I hope young hunters will see this video and learn from it. I wish there is a driven boar hunt here in the US. And another thing that I like a true hunter always field dress and drags its fallen game and not let others do that for them. I see a lot of hunters let others do the real job. Greetings from Califiornia. Very nice video.

    Iddtyrone, thank you for the nice comment. I don't say that my way of doing this is the best or the right way, but I agree with you that if you shall call yourself a hunter you need to hunt, hunting involves much more then shooting an animal. There are many people calling themselves "Hunters", but IMHO they are nothing more than shooters. I know that probably some will be offended by me saying that and I do not mean that it's necessarily is anything wrong in being "a shooter" as long as "a shooter" has respect for the animals and conduct themselves in a way that do not affect the animals in an unethical way. BUT there is a difference between hunters and shooters. I wish you a nice day, Tobias facebook.com/redmoosehunting/

    Thanks! It's a balance thats hard to know whats best. I had more material to make the film 10-15 min longer, BUT this is my first film here on KZread and it's hard to know what people wants. I had heard that films on KZread should not be to long, the rumour said keep it short. So I was afraid that this film on almost 19 min was to long.... ;-) Regards, Tobias

Keep IT up! :D

It's hard to find areas in Germany that allow us to film. It seams almost as most places is afraid to show that they hunt... I do not know why it is in that way.

    Thank you for the nice comment! Glad you like the videos. I agree with you to a certain degree regarding slo-mo. One challenge is that the stock films of the raw material gets a lot bigger. 4 x slo-mo makes 4 times bigger files and this takes up 4 x more space on storage hard drives and of course it will cost 4 x more money... :-( It also take much more computer power to edit it, so it is a challenge. A middle way is to only film the shot scenes with slo-mo, but it hard to tell when a shot scene will occur, so on stand the camera must be set on slo-mo the whole time. I'm on it, but have not succeeded in getting some good footage in slo-mo. Another challenge is that non hunters often finds slo-mo scenes more like "kill-animal-porn", so when putting slo-mo kill shots on KZread, it must be done with a high degree of explanation and not too often.... ;-) But my intetion is to do this sometime when I got some appropriate video. Many thanks for your input. I wish you a nice day! Regards, Tobias

    Very nice. I have always had this deep desire to go on one of these hunts, but after 3 years in Vietnam 67-69 they did not have these, then when they began I was unable to make enough money because no one would hire you. Vietnam Vets were not very well liked. Now I am 70 years old still don't have the money to take my wife of 29 years and myself to go. We hunt here in the U.S. The one good thing is we hunt wild boar for free in the forests here at home, but they are a cross between Eur. wild boar and pine rooters. Pine rooters. are not fit to eat. My grandpa was born in Austria, and grandma in Poland I would love to see these countries before I leave this earth. Well keep making videos so I can join you on the hunt.

Tobias

    Red Moose Hunting En äldre hädangången bekant sa: -"Jägare blir man aldrig!

MVH Tobias

    Thanks for this nice comment! We always try to do our absolutely best when it comes to safety and ethics. however, both safety and ethic is a matter of judgment and different people, cultural background, traditions and so on varies. With this serie on KZread one intention is to travel some around the world and put some light on different values. It does not always have to be black or white, in some cases there is just two ways of doing things. Regards, Tobias

    In normal cases I use 9,3x62 for driven hunt, I like the caliber and use it also when hunting wild boar and moose in Sweden. I've short barrel and silencer on my 9,3x62 and silencer is not allowed in Poland. So if removing the silencer from my 9,3x62, it gets to short and bad balanced. So for that sake I used my .300WM. There is probably as many choices of caliber as it is hunters. I've 6,5x55 for stalking, but I like the heavier caliber for driven hunt and when hunting moose/wildboar for dog. It has more stopping power and my experience is that if I gets a not as good shot as I like, it puts down the animal faster with less suffer for the animal. Thanks for your comment and I'm glad you liked the film. Regards, Tobias facebook.com/redmoosehunting/

    Bra film.

    Marcus, Tack för feed-back. Alternativ bock i england vs ungern. Jämföra terräng, traditioner, upplägg etc. Tack för din kommentar! MVH Tobias

    i did not understand the card system

  • @RedMooseHunting

    @RedMooseHunting

    7 жыл бұрын

    Jason, If we are 13 hunters hunting one day, every hunter gets a stand in each drive/beat. The cards is like a lottery to make sure that the different stands in the different drives get fairly divided between the hunters. So every morning every hunter draw one card each. The number in the left corner tells which number you are that day. In the column to the far left you can read out with row to use. For example is it is 13 hunters hunting that day, we use row 14. In the most upper row you can read out the number of drives/beats. For example: If I am number 6 for the day and we are 14 hunters that day and we hunt the 3rd drive/beat for the day, I go to the column to the left, go down to 14, then go to the right in that row until I comes across the 3rd column. The number in that space, givs with stand I will have in tha drive/beat. I hope this explains it little more, english is not my native language so I understand that it maybe could be better.... I’m telling this to you in the kindest way possible, Why do hunt like a sport or just for fun?

  • @RedMooseHunting

    @RedMooseHunting

    5 жыл бұрын

    Hi Mariana, For me hunting is not a sport. I do not like to compare hunting with sports. Hunting is managing and controlling the wildlife populations according to a management plan. Hunting also brings good ecological meat to the dinner tables. You ask me if I think hunting is fun. I would not like to use that word, since I do not consider hunting as fun. I hunt because I like it, because it is to engage with the nature very close and as a hunter you need to know a lot about the nature. It is also exciting and rewarding, both by the experience it provide, but also by knowing that one have been part of something good. By regulating the population of deer and boars, the farmers and forrest owner gets less damage to their crops and wood. We can also get the good ecological meat from animals that have lived a natural free life with out medicine, fences or stress when being brought to slaughter. Thanks for your that you take your time to ask and I hope my answer can bring some clarity to your question. I wish you a nice day! Tobias

    Nice attitude you have... :-( It is of course preferable to always have soft ground to catch the bullet, however this is very seldom the case. If you should not fire in any environment were it is frozen ground, rocky ground or where it is a risk that the bullet hits a stone in the dirt, you would have to cancel most shots. In this case I have no other hunters in the direction of where I shot. The drive have just started and I'm the last hunter in the line. In the place where I shot it totally safe, even with a ricochet. If you shall call everybody on KZread for a idiot that shot this kind of shots, you will probably have a full time occupation to do so. However, thanks for your reply, but I do not agree with you that this was unsafe shooting. In other cases with other hunters down the road or with open landscape, it could be unsafe, but not in this situation with that low angle. Have a nice day, tobias

    Or A: You never shoot a gun on a hunt. Or B: You just started to hunt and have yet a lot to learn. Or C: You never shoot a gun at all. This was a safe shot and the ricochet don't give any trouble here. Whit that angle the bullet collapse in the ground and loses very quickly speed and the trees and/or a bush will stop it. And please don't type with the caps lock on. It seems that a little child have typt.

    Toros Toro, (or what your name is, it's easy to be anonymous on internet) I can not understand why you call us idiots? Let me explain some things for you, since I do not understand why you are that angry that you feel the ned to wright in BIG LETTERS and call names to me. Yes, I agree with you, to shot at hard ground is NOT the best way of shooting, However, when you shoot a shot you must ALWAYS calculate with the risk of a ricochet, no matter what ground you have. You never know with ballistics where the bullet will go. If you sit i a high seat it's better, BUT it does not matter in the long run. Since the general rule says that the bullet will go up after a ricochet in approximately the same angle as it hit the surface. If you sit in a high seat at a normal field and shot, there is a BIG risk for ricochets, because in the ground/dirt there is stones and if the bullet hits one, it will probably ricochet. As soon as it's winter and the ground freezes, you could NEVER shot at all, if you need to avoid ricochets. You could NEVER hunt in the mountains, because its rocks and stones everywhere. You are upset over the fox a shot, but you do not mention the fallow deer I shot in the same film. after that the bullet have passed through the body of the fallow it will probably hit the road. It does not matter much that there is some mud on the road, the road is hard and there is a calculated risk of a ricochet. You are also right in that you should never count on that tree catch a bullet. Of course not! Every time you fire a rifle it's a calculated risk of that something bad is happening in a ricochet situation. EVERY TIME! ...it comes to minimise the risk and the effects of a ricochet, since it will probably occur mor often than what many hunter aspect. In this case I do not consider the trees to 100% catch a ricochet, however the fact that the trees is there, is a positive aspect, noting more, nothing less. The most important fact is that I know that there is no people in the direction and it is fairly hilly terrain, so together with the trees, I know that it will be no problem with a ricochet, since the bullet must likely WILL ricochet. I've no problem to discuss matters regarding my film, however if you continue calling me an idiot and if you can not behave in a decent behaivor, I will either not answer you more or delete your posts. Not because I can't take critic, but because I will not accept to be called an idiot. "To argue with a fool, makes a pair". So please let us discuss in a good manner. Best regards, Tobias

    Dear sir Tobias,I was angry with you guys and called you idiot's not because of your person BUT because of your shooting behaviour. - I still find, that your shooting behavior is WRONG and VERY DANGEROUS for invisible people (by missing target and/or exit route of bullet after hitting, - Both of you did not SEE, did not REALIZE and still IGNORED how dangerous it is/was. Anyway, I appreciate your last answer and read that you little realize the seriousness of the case, thnx.
