Driven! 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE450 4MATIC
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Luxury. Technology. The ability crawl over nasty terrain. That sums up the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE450. A direct descent of the M Class that is widely credited for starting the luxury SUV segment (though I remember the Land Rover Range Rover being around) the GLE is the perfect glamping partner. Tom Voelk reviews a fully loaded GLE450 equipped with the 48-Volt E-Active Body Control.

Driven is much more comprehensive than many other channels and never has an agenda...DCR rules!
Your style is definitely one of the best! Totally deserve millions of subs.
I just want to point out the effort that Voelk has put into this video, it is truly unique, not only does he include major shot variety but he also, gives the viewers an in depth history of the cars predecessors. where else do you see this, it is also clear that he enjoys his work which is always great to see. And the production value is undaniable I never saw the same shot twice Great Job!
If I owned one of these? I'd randomly park in front of nursing homes on the weekends, when everyone comes to visit. Then I'd rock that feature and film the responses.
Your one of the best car KZreadr Tom! Well thought and made videos unlike the norms nowadays. Keep it up!
Thank you so much Tom for all your great videos. I have been watching you for about 6 years and I have to say that your videos get better every year.
I've been subscribed for years but don't comment often. I always thought you had hundreds of thousands of subs with the quality of the content that you produce. Thank you for your continued efforts!
Tom is one of the most charismatic and knowledgeable reviewer's out there. Love his laid back and easy going demeanor.
don't worry you make great content you definetly deserve more subscribers
Looooooveeeeeeee your reviews Tom!!! Greetings from Honduras
Tim, I just want to say you are a great reviewer and on top of that, what makes your videos superb are all the fantastic shots of the car in motion.
I almost never post comments, but your channel deserves far more subs than any other car review channel on YT. Concise and straight to the point! Bravo!
You have the best and most professional report. A cut above even those reviews done by the major car magazines. Over the years you have helped me on my vehicles purchase.
Keep doing the same good things in the right way!! Top class, unbiased, professional reviews without unnecessary bashing. Tom, you would eventually reach the milestone that you are after! Cheers!!
Greatings from Portugal. Keep up with your good work Tom.
Great to see this vehicle in the roads! So lucky! I've pre-ordered my 2020 GLS and eagerly waiting to drive it!
Happy to see the square vents back, those giant circles are so out of place, especially with the rectilinear gauge cluster. And welcome back inline 6! Smooth as can be.
Another excellent review! As others have stated, you definitely deserve way more subscribers!
Facts an detail... love this review... am subscribing... 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
First time I see a video from your channel and it is so good. Subscribed. You mention some good important things others miss like how the electric motor makes the stop/start function so much better etc. Very good.
I watch all your reviews from Lagos, Nigeria. You truly deserve more subs.
Really awesome reviews! I look forward to your reviews, very entertaining and informative! Keep up the good work!
Well done ..You explained every details very well... Really you deserve at least a million subscription's... Again well done 👍👍
Great video as always Tom. Your videos calm me down on stressful days, with the beautiful cinematography and your calm narrating style. I really like the looks, especially on the outside, but I would prefer optional analogue gauges as well. Well crafted ones can be exquisite and look like an expensive watch or some other beauty to behold. Of course, it's much cheaper to slap a couple of tablet screens on the dash, especially when you can use them on all the models. Though, given the price of this vehicle, I wouldn't appreciate cost cutting too much.
Great reviews always and love the sense of humour so keep it up. Thank you
Great, as usual, Tom
From 57K USD to almost 99k USD...that's wild Also, nice video as always
For sure your review deserves 1m subs !😊❤
Great review Tom
My favorite car journalist :) To all subscribers please spread the word.
I'm from Malaysia and you're correct... This is the best channel to get information about new car
If this GLE's a Rockin' - Don't Come a Knockin' (Evil Twin @ Work)!!
Excelent review as usual !!!! 👍👍
An amazing car, to own new, or lease....my neighbor has one, bought it used....had to take a loan to pay for the repair of the air suspension...I’m not kidding, the bill was a little under 7,500! Holy cow. All this tech can be unbelievably expensive to repair...otherwise as always Tom, thanks for yet another great review! One million...here you come!

you are probably the best reviewer. i discovered you at the NYT, and was saddened to discover that they apparently do not use you any longer, but on the other hand i like that you now seem to do these weekly!

Yes, NYT no longer wants individual reviews, more conceptual pieces. Welcome!
I’m subscribed Tom! Been subscribed for a while! I was one of the ones wondering how you don’t have a million subs lol.
Love your reviews!
Excellent review thanks
Excellent review!
Been following since the KING days.
Finally a good looking ML/GLE
Now you need one less subscriber to get to a million. I just subscribed. Your style, information, and filming are excellent. You do deserve the million subs.
I’d be rocking the bounce function at every stop light and mess with people 👊
Excellent review
I've done my part, Tom. I subscribed long ago, I click the like button. I praise you're reviews. What else can I do?
I’ve been a fan for a long time.
Wow nice review I didn’t know you were here I just subscribed try to do more Mercedes Benz vehicles and its competitors
Love the bouncy house trick.
Tom deserves 1 million subs.
No BS, you’ve got to be the most comprehensive and natural auto reviewer on KZread, short of Doug. Well done and thank you Sir for the great content!
Love that car , wow !
YOU DO DESERVE MORE VIEWS!
great review
Love the video.
Great review as always! Would love to see your thoughts on the base one.
best gle review
Yes...keep the comments mature about the suspension. 🤔🤔🤔
I love your reviews. The camera is not constantly on your face. New subscriber here...
Excellent car reviewed by an excellent journo!
Nice video!!
MORE frequent uploads would help your subscriber count
Great review Tom. On a sunny day, it looks like that large n’ wide LCD panel would reflect quite a bit. How did the over $5,000 upgraded stereo system sound? I imagine at 99k it had it 🤔
Tom'! Another stellar review. As a fellow filmmaker, I donated to the replacement camera campaign and it's obviously been put to good use. IF you were only located in NY- I'd beg be part of the crew on these production / reviews. I watch them, all of them, even when I'm not in the market for a new car but pay extra close attention (love that pause and replay button) when a review appears on a car I'm considering. Not to sound too creepy but I watch the Driven channel as if its a Netflix series sometimes binging on multiple reviews if I have missed a few b/c of well er life getting in the way. Anyhow- love this particular vehicle and Im considering it in the 350 version- yes b/c its cheaper - but would love the 450 version for its speedier acceleration. I wonder how big a differential between the 350 and 450 in everyday life it really is. Time to test drive I suppose. Certainly if there is some insight I'd love to hear it on that particular horsepower concern. Keep em coming- these are the most thorough informative call it CAReduTainment films around. Thanks Tom!
Excellent review very expensive but what would u expect rom a Mercedes-Benz
Your joke at 2:05 won me over. I subscribed! Here's my attempt at a piffy comment - "If you go into bounce mode, make sure at least two people are in the car, otherwise..."
Hell of a car.
Hey Tom, You’re right about 1MIL Subs. I make sure to click on a Driven Review by Tom as it comes up. You mention the Voice Assistant being stubborn and I am so surprised by this. My Impala with MYLINK Turns the Radio up, or dials a contact, without issue. Of course connecting to Android Auto makes it so I just speak without pushing any speech button and works really well. So if Chevy has it together you would think Mercedes would be miles ahead. And I am not comparing the two on everything they can do just understanding commands comparing.
Tom that was a fantastic showcase!! I’m not sure u do comparisons? I’m interested in this GLE and the 2021 Jaguar F-pace! I’d love to see a in-depth comparison! To help me decide which is best for me! I’m a seasoned Mercedes and BMW driver for 15 yrs. but the new Jaguar is the shit;)
Hi, Tom... I'm a new viewer and your review is specific w/o providing way too much info. This particular model is very attractive on many levels, I'll stick with my RX350 for awhile longer. Thanks so much.
This channel is criminally overlooked!

Okay I’ll say it - if the Van’s a’rockin don’t come knockin’!!!
Maybe your main audience have relatively higher education level (typically appreciate great narrative) - this might explain why we love the way you review those cars. Unfortunately, there aren't many of us.

She seldom drives the press cars so probably not her. She doesn't care about cars too much.
Muy buena página.
2:00 Ah yes, it's mating season for this GLE.
nice car
If it's rockin, don't come a knockin!
And you need to use the USB-C close to the cup holders to sync CarPlay. The ones under the armrest does not support that sync.
How about reviewing the Audi Q 8. Great videos keep up the good work.
beautiful, does it take very long fo a charge?
Tom, Since you mentioned it, I will definitely take the Yaris as long as it is made by Toyota.
Great video as always beautiful suv but 99.000:-X:-X
Best feeling when I had the GLE (press car) was when I returned it and went back to my 2001 VW Caravelle: When you actually have to drive.
"I kinda miss analogue gauges" ...no shhhh Tom. Let us enjoy this
Great car for date night, you don't even have to move, the car does it for you
99 Grand! That's just insane!
My college kid would have a field day with this.
I expected to see a mini GLE after that sand move!
Did you have to put a quarter in a slot to get all that vibration like the riding toys outside grocery store?
Cannot afford it, but still interesting to see where technology is headed. All cars should move to the speedometer-instrument panel-media display as one continuous screen.
For that air suspension function, I can finally pretend I am not alone in the car, if I can buy one.... :)
Great review! I got a 2020 GLE 350 4-Matic May 2. My 6th ML/GLE since 2006. Love the new body, interior, electronics. But the car has been back to Mercedes twice for transmission issues. It redlines in D1 and I have to hit the accelerator repeatedly to get it to shift gears. As soon as i leave service dept, problem begins again. They say they don't have much experience with 2020 vehicle problems, so I'm not sure what happens next. Also the gas cap was defective and the left side AC vent stop throwing air. Again, because its a redesign, a week to get piece for AC vent. I probably should have waited for 450.

Hi not sure if you're still around and still have your car - I'm looking at this year and model in a used car with low miles and certified. Any updates on reliability? Thanks.
I wonder how many viewers the other guys have. Is there a review system for car reviewers such as yourself? I did have a look at some other reviewers. Not even close; they don't know how to explain things properly even on the rare occasion they know anything about the car in question. Most are very happy with themselves, I could go on. I'm sure your fans talk about you; so maybe some out there have a good idea to get you more 'clicks'. Bill Cunningham was the man for fashion photo reporting, you are the man for automotive reporting; no matter how many people see your reports!
But I love the Coupe version of this! Nice review and YES, you deserve millions of subscribers, keep it up bro
In which suburbs have you shot the video?
You do deserve more. Advertise the page on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram.
When you said "Hey Mercedes" Not Equal to "Hi Mercedes". It's not the shyness that you didn't get a response. When it works, no, I think it always works. Check it out, kiddo.
