Wouldn't you lose all your documents if your format the primary partition?

When I do list disk it says there is no fixed disks to show

virtual disk service error, the volume size is too big, WHat should be done for the next step ?

I have followed your video but after I type List Disk I get the following Disk 0 online 7680 MB (Status). 7679 MM (Free)Disk 1 online 29GB 29GB I then selected disk 1it then states disk 1 is now the selected disk DISKPART> list partition There are no partitions on this disk to show. DISKPART> Can you please let me know if there is anything I could possibly do now ? As I can’t go any further with you video.

This tutorial was informitive , however he could have explained (briefly) what some of those last few commands steps were for.... Like he did in all of the earlier steps .... Ending the video with a brief summary of the Why's &Whens of the overall procedure implications ... other than that it was a good course .

Has there been any update with the error "Virtual disk service error: the volume size is too big". It seems quite common yet I cannot see that anybody has managed to get it fixed after this error. My partition is around 450GB.

Use ntfs instead of fat32 when you enter the format line

when i try bcdboot c:\Windows / l en-us /s h: /f all it all ways saying "Failure when attempting to copy boot files" please rep

Why format for FAT32 as opposed to NTFS? Isn't NTFS the default file system since Windows XP?

Just a standard procedure copied from elsewhere. No explanation as to why particular commands were chosen. Slooooooowwww too.

@@bendovahkiin8405 I don't know why format in fat32 is not the format used for O.S. - fat32 has limitations in size per single file and maybe your error is related to that. For O.S. partition NTFS system is used. Warning that this system supports EFS encryption.

After 3 hours of these Fix It videos not work or cannot understand. So-oo glad you at least speak English I can understand.Have been without Internet and a computer over year now with no luck repairing. Plus no television to watch except movies I own. My only entertainment everyday has been my android phone. Fingers crossed this with work.

I am trying right now and I mess with the boot record, at one point it didn't let me to fix it with the commands available since it said something about the drive is write protected, it seemed to work again after changing the active partion for my storage partition which is bigger, usually windows installation is put in a smaller partition. For me, a new install would work, other video already suggest formating the drive which in the case is only for system it wouldn't be much problem, but be careful of the encrypted keys certificates and other relevant information that is stored on c without another possibility like browsers user files they out user files in c always, like chrome, opera or Mozilla Firefox. Now the issue with the incorrect active partion has been fixed with the repair tool that puts the logo of windows. I was planning to make the active partition again manually but this seems to work.

You are a lifesaver! My drive had bitlocker encryption enabled but you taught me how to override it! You deserve a lot more recognition! Cheers❤️

Windows is probably not on the X drive.

At the command prompt diskpart list disk select disk 0 (or whichever partition you want to use) clean convert GPT exit exit Now Continue Windows install

HELP: Your "X:' says.. "x:\sources>" ----- from the start mine constantly says.. "x:\windows\system32> ..after the "FORMAT & DISKPART> exit" , nothing worked, saying: (H: \EFI\ ) --- "FILE SYS UNRECOGNIZED" & next "ACCESS DENIED" (PLeeZ RepLy..)

fast way to shell: SHIFT+F10 diskpart commant can be schorted to 3 letters "create partition primary SIZE=1000" --> "cre par pri SIZE=1000" switches cannot be shorted.

I am using a parallel desktop Window 8.1 Pro on my Mac Book Pro. I installed a Window 7 and Window 8. The window 7 is perfectly operating fine but the window 8.1 pro says no bootable device found. Thought this video would finally get me going, but it seems that the old Vista machine I am using to prepare the needed repair ISO is not allowing me to run the download/MediaCreationTool.exe . Although this fixed the problem, where's my stuff... its gone, you never informed anyone that information needed to be backed up or would.d be lost in the process
