    Otmar saying "I know what I'm doing" losing Alonso and Piastri because he didn't make offers to either of them -and then called Piastri disloyal and wanted to sue him because he got a job when he wasn't given the offer or choice.... Clearly, he's made a lot of blunders even though signing Gasly is a great move that I'll give him credit for.

    So Otmar knew there was no contract. How can he expect loyalty from the drivers when he has no contract. Also, he was playing politics with the drivers. That’s why both Oscar and Fernando left.

    If Alpine really wanted him they should have offered Oscar a contract before any other agreements expired. If Alonso had not left (he was also out of contract) then Oscar would have been the reserve driver for another season.

  • @HaraiGoshi345

    @HaraiGoshi345

    Oscar would have most likely gone to Williams in that scenario as they were trying to place him there. For some reason alpine want to make Williams their junior team, but Williams aren’t exactly keen on that idea. Mark webber, his manager, also wasn’t keen on placing him in a backmarker team, so he was also pushing to help Oscar find a seat in a better team.

  • @tbmofoulprinceromero

    @@HaraiGoshi345 I don't think Williams would have been keen on taking Piastri, they don't use Renault engines and one of the drivers need to come with quite a hefty sponsorship to finance the team, unless Alpine pay Williams a shit load of money, Williams would have either stuck with Latifi or promote Logan Sargaent.

    Sorry but Alpine should of tied down either Fernando or Oscar. They procrastinated far too long. They lost out due to poor strategic decisions and indecisiveness. You always lock in your drivers early as you can. Because once they're in, you don't have to piss around with anything else. McLaren and Aston Martin did the right thing in reaping the two drivers looking for seats. If you had Oscar under developmental work, you should of given him a contract with a potential call up. You gave ridiculous amounts of information to a driver that was not secured. That is just stupidity at it's finest.

    I really hate that guy for bashing Zak like that. 1st off, Danny Ric was in the slump for soo many years since he left Red Bull. Whether he can hold the gauntlet against Lando was one thing but surely, he can't. Car is up to him to tell his mechanics how he wanted it set up. He has the whole season to do it and yet he can't. He's trailing Lando consistently and at some point, the team definitely has to cut him loose and let him seek other teams rather than stagnating in theirs. Not Zak's fault that Danny Ric just isn't good enough anymore is it? 2nd, how is whatever Oscar Piastri did Zak's fault? Alpine didn't have a contract for Oscar thus Oscar had to jump around and ask for one. McLaren gave him one on the pretext that he didn't receive one from his primary team sponsor, Alpine. Then Otmar admitted behind closed doors that Alpine didn't plan ahead to offer Oscar a contract but played the loyalty card and reported it out like it was a god damn "sure deal" type of thing and yet complained about it that Zak poached his men when there's no black and white even being signed with Alpine and Oscar to have him drive for them in their machine. It's all a god damn farce and major fuckup on Alpine's side but they're not taking the blame.

    Agreed. Apparently the Red Bull engineers felt that Ricciardo was not very good at giving detailed feedback on a car. People think that a drivers job is just to race, that's only half of it. The best drivers understand what's wrong and have the cars built around them. When the difference between front & mid field is only a fraction of a second in pace, this stuff matters.
