I've travelled all over the world, The USA, Europe, Australia, Canada & Asia! I've lived in many of these places for many months at a time! 8 months in Australia, 6 months in Canada & 2 years in USA. I've also lived in many places around the UK, London, Liverpool, York, Durham, Beverley & ..........Hartlepool!!! And I have to say that despite its many problems, I prefer to live in Hartlepool than anywhere else in the UK!!! In a perfect world I would be living Arizona right now, the USA would be my absolute first choice! But Hartlepool is doing just fine for me right now!! Hartlepool has a great beach, some nice parks and all the shops you will ever need! All within easy reach of bus services and within 10-15 minutes drive if you have a car! You NEVER get stuck in traffic for more than 10 minutes even at rush hour and can literally get from one side of the town to the other within about 20 minutes!! Hartlepool is pretty good in many ways compared to other UK towns if you ask me!

Yea. Left West (Owton Manor) in '58 to go in the Army. REME. A Trade for life. I still remember the old place, And still glad I got out out. Germany, Army. Sth Africa. Yr in Canada. 47yrs in Australia. ALL were Such a difference. BUT. I still come back here for memories. Nostalgia. I'm still Deep down. A WEST....Hartlepudlian. and love the voices when I hear them. You call me an Aussie nowadays. (Aussies call me a POM.) 10 Aussie Grandkids. One Aussie Great Granddaughter. Maggie Gooding. Jackie Rhymer (Then girl Friend). John Slimmings. "Fatty" Kennedy. Ian Thompson (Also in Aust). Probably all dead nowadays. I'm 79yrs. I couldn't envisage living there though after most of life in Tropics. Cold would kill me. When you stopped. My old home was 7 Calder Grove.(Council houses then) Just behind shops opposite you in OML from looks of it. Moved in when they new in '53ish, from memory.

I had a week's holiday there two years ago, it was great and the locals were so friendly. Much nicer than London where I was born and bred. .

I lived in West Hartlepool in the mid 1960s, mu father taught at OM school. I have always found it difficult to find much material on Hartlepool so your videos are a good find

@@thingymabot1987 Thanks. Good to hear that and will soon be back to the UK as my son will be buying a house in Middlesborough. I am not living in Hartlepool but follow a lot about the place and from the Hartlepool newsletters I receive makes me like the place. Hopefully will retire there soon.

Usually if there are no speed signs , especially in the town , the speed limit is 30mph ... Thank you for your comment .. 🙂

Everywhere has the good parts and the bad parts of the town, I think Hartlepool is underrated, live here for 2 years now, I have a daughter who leave on the fens with her mum, nice area, good school, I live near the town centre, 20 minute walk to the marina , fantastic resturants and bars, and the beach is not far from there, alot worse places to live,
