Drive My Car And Its Cinemotive Cast | 1987 Saab 900 Turbo
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Oscar winner, Drive My Car, is an amazingly-crafted tale which weaves together multiple literary sources. But in doing so, it makes the Saab 900 Turbo all the more central to the story. Ryusuke Hamaguchi, Takamasa Oe, and Hidetoshi Shinomiya are master storytellers in their adaptation of Haruki Murakami's 40-page short story.

This was really well done. Thank you. There's definitely something to this film; I cried during the trailer.
I’m surprised I hadn’t seen your video in my algorithm yet, being a ‘92 900 owner who often seeks Saab videos out, I thought I would have seen this. Your treatment reminds me that I do want to see this movie still, and wanted to when it first came out. Unfortunately I watch very few movies, but I do need to see this one before it’s too late. Cheers!
The only video to set the car AND the story AND the book together in a review - greatly done! I was curious to the film only because of the car - but was moved deeply by the film.

Thank you!!!
Excellent analysis. A couple of things occurred to me: Misaki's a really good driver - driving a left-hand-drive car in a left-hand-drive country is seriously hard, you're on the side nearest the sidewalk not the middle of the road. (I don't know if this has any thematic significance.) And also to wonder if that was still the same car at the end? Different number plate. But there can't be two red Saabs on the road in Japan, surely...
WOW. This video is better than any other video out there.
As an owner of a 1991 Saab 900 SPG turbo, that missing plastic cover on the passenger side overhead handle is trying my OCD.
Beautiful review, loved it and the movie.
Amazing review, the best one out there
Beautiful review, i would love to hear your thoughts on the ending
The Saab engine isnt technically a "slant" engine like an old american slant six. The saab has intake and exhaust on separate sides.
From what I've heard Saab cars are really difficult to work on because the engine bay is cramped ? And the accessory belt is against the firewall.. Beautiful music again 👍

Well, I owned a 9000 and seen classic 900 being work on, that's not true at all, it was very well laid-out, easy to maintain if you know the exact procedure on how to do it. They were designed by airplane company after-all. I've been driving my 9000 for 2 years, never a break down, really good deal if you have a Saab garage nearby. The only downside is some parts are expensive, but they are reliable, you spent big get it in order, but once it is in good condition and good care, it won't ever break down.
Great review, you made some very beautiful interpretations. I never really thought about the contrasting messages between Waiting for Godot and Uncle Vanya. They represent polar opposites about the meaning of life, suffering and the human condition. Waiting for Godot is pessimistic, there is no god, no redemption, life has no meaning and suffering serves no purpose, Uncle Vanya on the other hand is more optimistic in that in the end God will take pity on us and let us rest in peace in heaven. I guess in the end, which ever one you believe we can agree that while we're here,we might as well be good to each other and try to find some meaning and joy in life through our actions and the relationships we have with one another. I was thinking about why they chose Hiroshima to set the movie in because in the short story,it is set in Tokyo. I think Hiroshima is kind of a metaphor for the progression of the two main characters .A location of great tragedy and pain but through hard work, strength and bravery there is a rebirth and something very beautiful was built out of the ashes. Of course, those of us that have been through great trauma and the lasting affect of that know it's easier said than done.

Single greatest response on one of my KZread videos ever! Thanks for the added thoughts!
Can you cover bumblebee's old camaro from the first 2007 transformets movie
Would be improved by slightly slower narration with pauses for assimilation.
