I stayed in Shenzhen for a couple of weeks 13 years ago. Believe me, it wasn't that great back then. What a mind boggling progress! Current Shenzhen looks modern and environmentally friendly enough to make me forget about Hongkong. I wish I could live there for years now 😂

Shenzhen is a city with high tech companies and their economy relies on the service industry and high end manufacturing. It has a GDP of 500 Billion USD which is more than some countries and has more skyscrapers and billionaires than New York 😂. Almost all busses and taxis are fully electric here. By the way newly installed renewable energy now account for more than 50% of China's energy mix. Even Beijing has clear skies these days. If you want to see polluted skies just visit India 😂😂

A lot of Chinese cities have independent bike lanes. But not the case for Shenzhen, now it's even more costly if u want to change, think of how many construction they have to do, move the trees along the sidewalk and pipes any grid underneath. I really thought the city planners of Shenzhen have made some big mistakes considering how vastly the people in China are using the electric scooter

Cuse China is a country with a very large population, the number of vehicles will be very large. If the Chinese government provides bicycle lanes like in Europe, then serious traffic jams will occur because the lanes for motorized vehicles are narrow. The roads in China are now narrow, especially if you add bicycle lanes
