Drinking Water for Health in the Early Modern Period - D. Gentilcore (Ca' Foscari - Venice)

In this Lecture, David Gentilcore discusses the analyses of the “qualities of waters” that were carried out in the Early Modern period, a history that has yet to be written, especially for plain or ordinary waters (as opposed to mineral or spa waters). He then moves to discuss medical knowledge, both in theory (prevention) and in practice (therapeutics), with an emphasis on the changing place of drinking water in medical treatment.
