Drinking old vintage beer can from the 1960s Coors

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this video, I open up an old can of beer that we found in my wife's grandmother's basement. We think these cans are from the 1960s. They have been sitting down there all these years just waiting to be discovered.

My Father and I were brewing a home brewed beer in the 1980's which we Christened 'Bastard', as pretty much every person that could sink 3 pints of it became a Bastard... It was 13.5% abv. We found some bottles of this beer, which had been languishing in a cool cellar for around 30 years.... The stuff was far better! Still had a kick - but a much more refined taste. The powerful load of American hops could still be tasted! We finished the 4 remaining pint bottles and reminisced about the fights and the good times! - One braggart of a man called at my Fathers sometime in the 1980's. He said, "Home brew? - It's 'Maidens Water' !" (Weak)... My Dad made sure this man left the house with at least 4 pints down him! - On leaving, he fell into the street, and couldn't get up! About a week later, I found out that this man who called our beer 'Maidens Water' had crawled home on his hands and knees! - Its best not to criticize home brew of any sort before first trying a couple o pints of it! I've been thinking of making home brew again, and I remember the recipe for Bastard... Perhaps I can make it a little weaker? (My late Father is tapping me on the shoulder! - I think to convey that I make it in exactly the same way)! Yessss! It HAS been decided! - I shall get some barrels up and running, again...... My Adventures will start Anew, and I shall (again) wake up in double beds, 50 miles from home, with Very Large and obliging ladies that my black outs prevent me knowing just how all this could be happening! It's high time I had More adventure in my life! Best Regards To All in this New Year of 2020. Eddie Hoare.

Those cans, including the Coors are from around the mid '70's. I know this because I collected beer cans starting in 1976 when I was 13. The Old MIlwaukee can is a little older than the rest, probably around 1970 or 1971 maybe? That one may have had the year printed along the seam. Cool that you were able to try this beer, I'm surprised it had any carbonation left at all.

The harsh taste of a beer gone bad will make a normal person to spit it out. And in some cases it may actually have the flavour of fermented almond/a ingredient/s that were used as poison. One needs to be very careful with vintage foods. Food poisoning is a nasty experience one doesnt always live to tell about. Try telling this to the tide-pod generation. Lol !
