Graeme Souness tried to change Liverpool's food and drink habits in 1991 after working in Italy and seeing how professional they were. English football just wasn't ready at that time, but when Wenger went to Arsenal and did the same thing attitudes had changed just enough for people to listen.

@@ianlucas5647it was hard for GS as he was trying to tell a group of players that won everything, "you should be doing this". The old guard at Liverpool, as good as they was, held back the youth that was coming through back with bad habits and old fashioned peer pressure. We kept the drinking culture up and dropped behind the pack.

Everyone including Sir Alex acknowledges how Wenger came in and changed the culture from diet to fitness. But your point is also what made Sir Alex the greatest of all time. He lost initially to any new challenger (Wenger Mourinho Ancelotti Benitez Mancini etc.) but then adapted his team and tactics and beat them all, and that’s the proof right there that if he was Ancelotti’s age right now (64 instead of being 82) he’d have adapted to the Pep and Klopp challenge and beaten them as well.

Your not allowed to just go out and Express yourself anymore you have to play a certain way and only go into certain areas of the pitch if the gaffer allows you to.
