Drinking Hawaiian ‘Awa in Kona at Kanaka Kava

Ойын-сауық

Chef Ellard goes to Kanaka Kava Bar to sample the Polynesian root drink known as kava. In Hawai'i, kava is called ‘awa. At this bar, they serve ‘awa made from roots grown on the island and harvested weekly. They also have Hawaiian food, including poi and other authentic Hawaiian dishes. If you're looking for more than "burgers, fries, and mai tais" check out Kanaka Kava Bar in downtown Kona for a more authentic Hawaiian experience.

Hi & Aloha from England! I spent 3 months on Big Island back in 2014. I spent so much time at Kanaka Kava and I remember reading a book and the Kava showed me what it's like to read without dyslexia! Truly amazing. So relaxed yet still stimulated. The food there was absolutely incredible. One day I'll be back! Mahalo for the beautiful memories

Didn’t taste watery. It was on point. And I’ve drank my share in Fiji.
