    The 1st bent arm position is flawless hip position, the 2nd flippy one is no hips cleared. To play well consistently there is one major key and that is hitting the ball with the turn, not with the hands. You can have a good round when it's handsy, but you'll never be consistent

    The pointing to the left begins in the early downswing when you should lower your arms and throw the club head to the right (not left). That momentum carries through to cause the thumbs to point left.

If a player demonstrates the incorrect pose that I show in the video and has the perception of not having ANY amount of pronation or supination in their arms then learning to add those movements in will allow them to extend their arms.

    Flipping your wrists is a result of an early release and will generally produce high-spinny shots. What he's demostrating is a ROLL of the wrists, not flipping. It's how true clubhead speed is generated. A lot of instruction muttles "feel" with "real." I don't know enough which category this falls into but is likely a combo of the two.

If players have zero amount of pronation and supination then it can hinder a players ability to extend the arms and can lead to a player demonstrating too much extension in the lead wrist, lack of speed and a bent lead arm.

    Your club face stays in contact with the ball a fraction of a second. Approximately 3/4 of an inch of the ball flight. Nothing you do after you strike the ball affects your ball flight. Getting the club face straight at impact by far outweighs anything else you can do so do whatever you need to do to keep the club face square it impact. Don't sacrifice accuracy chasing extra yardage that can be made up with a different club selection. Unless you're losing a lot of club head speed by not releasing reasonably on time, a square release is perfectly fine and not a *mistake"

  • @JKMGolf

    @JKMGolf

    I strongly disagree…the follow through is evidence of what you are doing in the downswing and how efficiently you are swinging the club and moving your weight, body, etc…also by changing your follow through you will directly influence your downswing. If the follow through doesn’t matter then why have a follow through at all. You’re suggesting you just stop the entire swing at the moment of impact

    As a whole, this is tough to time correctly and often does lead to inconsistent shots. However, this will generate clubhead speed like nothing else as it's the final pivot point of the swing. Given a proper swing arc, the faster the head of club is traveling when it impacts the ball, the father it goes... into the houses, water, or sometimes OB.😄

    No, you’re rotating your left wrist, not breaking or flipping it, big difference

    Isn’t the action you are demonstrating a flip? I love your stuff. The timing of the “thumb point” reversal at speed seems a timing nightmare and a total disconnection from the core. If the impact bag drill has any merit, it totally eliminates the sense of flipping the thumb, doesn’t it? I am sure the misunderstand is mine. As a tennis coach, this time hand movement would be a total disaster. How far can you fit a five with no body move and using just the thumb point reversal? It would seem this full, if it could be timed, would give you 80+% of your distance.

    Watch it closely, your left thumb should face the target, flipping it makes you thumb point up

    But why so much flipping on the clubface?

    my demonstration is slightly exaggerated to give people a visual of me adding supination and pronation to my forearms through impact instead of adding too much lead wrist extension.

    @@JKMGolf usually for me that would cause me more extension then bowling. For me keeping the club face pointing down the target line longer promotes more accuracy.

    Looks like your flipping the club. I’m being taught to not do that?
