Salute to all the brave men & women from around the world who have given up their comfort, happiness & lives to defend their countries & the ones they love 🙏🏼❤️ 🌍 Special thanks to Drill Sergeant DePalo & his soldiers for allowing me to collaborate with them on this poignant cadence, I hope my tribute did the song justice.
More info:
Drill Sergeant DePalo leads his soldiers to Chow Hall at Fort Jackson, singing the Cadence "I Left My Home" (Originally posted 2016, but the video has recently resurfaced & has been made popular on TikTok). In the armed services, a military cadence is a traditional call-and-response work song sung by soldiers while running or marching.
The trumpet part was inspired by "The Last Post", a song that I would perform on Remembrance Day at my Highschool, Michaelhouse. The call dates back to 17th century, and was originally used made to signal that the final sentry post had been inspected, and the camp was secure for the night. It is now also used at ceremonies, like Remembrance Day (Poppy Day), to commemorate the lives lost in war.

Lyrics:
Your daddy was home when you left, you're right!
Your sister was home when you left, you're right!
Your brother was home when you left, you're right!
Your dog was home when you left, you're right!
Your cat was home when you left, you're right!
The fish was home when you left, you're right!
Your mommy and daddy, your brother, your sister, the dog, the cat, the fish
was home when you left, you're right!
And that's the reason you left, you're right!
I left my home, to join the army
I left my home, to join the army
The day I left, my momma cried
She thought that I would surely die
I left my wife, crying at the door
She knew that I would die at war
I left my son playing in the yard
Seeing daddy leave made him cry so hard
Oowie oowie, oowie oowie
Oowie oowie, oowie oowie
Left, march! We join the army
"The true Soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him." - G.K. Chesterton

@Gustavo Figueiredo The fact of the point is, David Scott is innovative and he is amusing people with it. That's the whole point of his music. He is an artist. When others would do something better, they would deserve to be appreciated too. The important thing is, now many people are more responsive to the animal voices. For making things more interesting here, we are bringing a prediction of someone whom we and many many others respect alot. IN NEXT 7 TO 10 yrs. WE WILL BE ABLE TO COMMUNICATE WITH ANIMALS How interesting it would be. The era of advance technology is already on the sprung.

My brother passed away 13 years ago. He served in the Air Force. He was stationed in Alaska and 2nd in command at his base. He was a genius and went to officer school. He did over 200 life flight rescues. In July of 2010 he was founded dead in his apartment. Self-inflicted gunshot wound. His case is still open due to suspicious circumstances. The Air Force promoted him after his passing because he passed all his exams and graduated with honors. I never told my mom this, and only a few people know. I knew the day my brother died. The day it happened. I felt it in my spirit. I cried uncontrollably. I did understand why at the time. No one had to tell me. After listening to this and reading the comments, it made me cry again, and I haven't cried in a long time. I miss my brother deeply❤. Thank you and anyone else reading this. Thank you for your service.

Mannn, you too! When I was young man I had gotten myself into some trouble with the law in Los Angeles, California, same misdemeanor crime several times. The last arrest was carried over to a felony and I was facing prison time. The DA'S office offered me a booth camp program (RID) that would delete that arrest from my record and prevent me from serving a day in prison, the program was 90 days. I took the offer, It was so military like. We marched, jogged and did cadence. We went to school, group psychology meetings and church. I got alot of I'll thoughts and feelings off of my chest. I most definitely benefited from the program. I've never been arrested again, that was over 30 years ago. I wish I had gone to the military right after high school. It would have been my career for sure.

Sorry for your loss brother. My cousin Patrick was killed on his 5th combat deployment to Afghanistan for the US Army as a Army Ranger. They had been out on a combat patrol and heading back to their very very remote COP when the lead vehicle hit an IED and immediately came under heavy small arms fire and RPG fire and they said my cousin was on his 2nd or 3rd run to try and get his buddies out of the lead vehicle that had been completely destroyed from the blast before he was hit and killed before reaching his injured buddy and a ANA Soldier who both survived except for my cousin. His wife just gave birth to his first born child a little girl the day before he made the ultimate sacrifice. He was the 2nd or 3rd person in my family and bloodline that have been killed in the service of our country. But the one thing that my cousin always told us is that “if in-fact I do make the ultimate sacrifice while on a deployment I will die doing what I love and I will die with my boots on and will go out surrounded by the greatest group of the most badass American Warfighters on the planet. So don’t cry for me because I gave my life doing what I loved.” He was the epitome of what a Army Ranger was 110%. His older brother my other cousin who was also a Ranger with multiple combat deployments all over the world. He was a Ranger first and then he kept climbing the SF Ladder. But again man I’m sorry for the loss of your brother who made the ultimate sacrifice for the people of y’all’s country! I don't even think he was fully through puberty yet. I'm ashamed to admit that me and my other brothers used to bully him and it was a large part of why he couldn't wait to leave. He did multiple combat tours, was stop-lossed, and almost blown up twice. We still see him around every couple of months. The guilt is unreal.

Left my home, left my wife and family so that I can support them better. Im pretty sure this song resonates to all the migrant workers/students as well. damn the bloody ninjas around me cutting onion again.
