Drill for Fast Dancing - for Lindy Hop & Swing Dance
Support my channel by going to / lauraglaess
By far, the best way to learn how to fast dance is to fast dance - a lot. However, having personal athleticism and agility to bring to the partnership is also a must. If you can't physically move your own body fast, a partner will not make things any easier. In the absence of social dancing, events, and even partnership for many of us, this drill will help give you what you need to move quickly, so when fast dancing happens, you can focus on the partnership instead of on the breathlessness!

This video has to be fake. No one can possible be dancing at 310 BPM and still be smiling. You are amazing!

You gotta smile! It helps hide how tired you are ;)
This is exactly what I’ve been looking for! I’ve lost a lot of muscle and endurance over the pandemic and haven’t had anyone who is into fast styles who could help me with stuff like this. I’ll definitely take it slow, but your videos make it feel possible! Thank you for this wonderful resource!
you are having fun with the two lauras in the video and I AM HERE TO APPRECIATE IT

Thank you !!!!
Impressive 🙌🏼
ok. The split screen work is undoubtedly some your best yet. I'm going to have to buy one of your art pieces because my income isn't stable enough to join on Patreon right now. I'm enjoying ALL of your videos so much!

I get that this is not the year for great finances. Don't worry about me, but I appreciate that you value what I do :) Also, split screen is thanks to Brooks who bought me a tripod so I don't have to stack my camera on a baby monitor box.
Thank you so much I tried to pick out a favourite dance I liked but I could not, they was all fabulously awesome thank you so much for sharing Laura, yours truly Andy 🍀🎵🌈🎶,,
This will become my new work out routine. Getting ready to hit the dance floor when I can.

Nice! Yeah, we'll hit the ground running!
GO HEAD NOW!!!💜💜💜👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Not going to lie, I loved watching this and can't wait to do some of th drills myself! Plus the editing is really sharp. Such a clever idea to have two copies of yourself even if the editing of it is so much harder than just having a second person doing it with you (if that's even possible).

Not going to lie, the editing IS a pain, but I do like it a lot more. I'm glad you do, too!

@@LauraGlaess yes, I love it! Please keep doing it u til you get bored! 😋 I particularly love how you're so in time with yourself despite them being completely different recordings. Not that I'd expect anything different or that you wouldn't be, but for me it really highlights and hammers home how consistent and precise you're being, which is pretty cool!
I've been using this drill for a while now, and let me just say, 310 BPM The Last Jump goes HARD! Someone pass this comment along to Brooks Prumo 😉

Love this. Thank you
This was such fun to watch and dance with. I decided to replace my pre-workout HIT cardio with this drill. Only managed to get to 244 bmp but your smiling and joyous face gave me the energy to try again after a break :D

I will definitely be adding this to my work out. I can also see you I can add actual moves. Nice, thanks for posting. I am into some Bal on the real fast stuff. 🕺💃
So awesome indeed ... ladders are great! Maybe tomorrow I'll actually try it instead of just watching after a couple of drinks. But, seriously, great stuff here. Love the split screen ... kudos. Great soundtrack as well, really nice! Keep 'em coming.

@@LauraGlaess : and thousand thanks for letting us know the secret trick: focusing on the butt movement! When I focused on the feet before I ended up tired and overwhelmed, even at slow speeds. Now I understand how the the whole body move, especially the butt 😄
It’s been a week since I went to an event, so I thought I would be A) recovered enough to do this and B) up to dancing fast because the band last weekend was HOT. Apparently I am neither of those things, I only made it to 230bpm 😅 Definitely incorporating this into my workout routine, thanks Laura!

I really appreciate this! Do you have particular stretches that you do before and/or after this workout? Thanks for sharing your expertise with us mere mortals.

Man, I don't but I should. Just any stretching is helpful. Even more than that, a nice cool down: I'm a big fan of a nice walk through the neighborhood. The blood flow helps move the lactic acid out of your system.
This is so awesome, thanks Laura! Gonna work on my butt bounce :D
The comic-factor in 300bpm plus is hiiigh :D

Heya, who is that "I found a new baby" song by? I can't find it on Brooks Prumo Orchestra albums. Great video though, thank you.

That's Floyd Domino! He's a piano badass that won his FIRST grammy at 19. You can get his albums here (don't judge - it's a VERY old school website). www.floyddomino.com/products.htm
the Mosaic Boxes in the background ... for example the Teddy Wilson box, is this the Lp Box ?
I love that version of Sweet Georgia Brown, where can I find it? Love the videos, thank you for your work!

I believe that is sung my Alice Spencer in Floyd Domino's All Stars - a local band from Austin. Check them out! They are so fun to dance to.
Great workout but it should come with a disclaimer that you should check with your doctor before trying. Ha ha!😜

Ha! ESPECIALLY in a pandemic.
On the foot leaving the floor, do you mean the ball of your foot? As in you are basically hoppping on one leg?
@LauraGlaess
Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I think about it like that! Tiny little hops on every beat.
Should my heart rate be matching the BPM?
