Awesome idea having the fire pit in the bag, sometimes you just don't want it in the car. The added recovery pocket at the rear is a awesome idea. The liner is amazing. Love that idea. You can see alot of thought has gone into the bag and it's design. Awesome work guys.

This solves a lot of problems for people doing long range touring - tracks, rubbish, AND fire pit. Awesome way to make use of the spare wheel.

Luke great design love how think about what people need I have a no wheel on the back so think I would put a couple of bars across the back door keep up the great work 👍

I have the standard bag with twin liner which is a great product. However, I have a Landrover Discovery with a vinyl tyre cover. It does not swing away like the one on Luke's car. There is about 30 mm clearance between the tyre and door and it is a nightmare to fit. I would love to see Luke give a fitment demonstration on this type of set up. With the swing away spare he makes it look so easy, which it is.

Suggestion for the next version might be to make the rear straps pull down to tighten, rather than pull up? Its easier to pull down because its how our body works, you can use your body weight. All you'd have to do is switch the connectors on the buckle around.

@@boxheadmr yes it’s a great bit of kit. The plus is the quality of the product and the well thought out design. The minus for me is that you can only fit two maxx Tracs in the provided space, and I would rather 4 for my application. Cheers😎👍

Got mine a few weeks ago and fits up a treat with the Max trax. Fits my snatch strap in the front pocket... ripper product Luke!!

Does your drifter tent ladder fit in this bin anywhere maybe instead of the fire pit?

I love the idea of fitting the firepit in the bag all in one! I recently bought a Crashpad stealth bag and love their quality but bugga me what pita to put it on!!! I have a Prado 90 with not even finger space behind the wheel to get to the back. Would be great on a rear tyre carrier with access. Ihad to undo the wheel nuts till almost falling off to be able to fit it! All they had to do was put the buckles starting at the bottom and it would be sweet and might even take a firepit but ii wouldn't trust it to hold the weight. I also love the idea of having the spare covered from the sun. Can drifta possibly go to the next level and have a sun cover for the spare incorporated as well as a bag that is designed to fit to a spare that's flush up against the back door????? I challenge drifta to be the best out there 😜😁

@@DriftaCamping4WD good to hear Luke 👍👌 might even be worth trying to make it so it can be attached to something like a Prado where the spare is tight up against the back door. I watched your in my frustration with the Crashpad one I had just bought and couldn't fit - Crashpad have kindly said they will modify it so the buckles go at the bottom instead of the top. I suggest they might like to add a couple of horizontal straps to fix through the rim holes so it can firmly fix the 2 vertical straps . . . . But I don't think they will take that on board . . . But will see how it comes back I guess. I reckon if you did the whole thing like yours is with a top cover and able to fit over a wheel tight against the door if get one for sure 👍👌😎

can be done, but not so easy.. but I do know people that have done it.. good thing once it's on, you don't need to take it off : ) L

not atm.. too many tyre sizes , it's a huge amount of work.

Can i make a suggestion Put 3 loops in the sleeve so you can hang rubish bags in the sleeve for recycling. Or 2 smaller sleeves

Will you consider making a bin bag for 4WDs with no rear wheel carrier? I have an 80 Series Land Cruiser with the horizontal split tailgate, and I’ve been looking unsuccessfully for one that can fit on the bottom tailgate of the 80. I’ve seen many from the US for tailgates of pickups. But they’re all too tall for the tailgate of the 80 Series. It does not have to be as comprehensive as the the bag shown here (which I think is fantastic BTW, I’d get this if I had a rear wheel carrier). The tailgate bin bag can just have a large main compartment (with the removable inner lining) and a smaller outer compartment (and maybe strip or two of webbing loops at the front to clip some carabiner or tie things to). This bag obviously needs to swing away from the tailgate when the tailgate is lowered, so fitting a large bucket/clip (or two smaller ones) at the bottom of the bag to attach it to the harness that’s mounted on the tailgate (for up position), then unclipping it before lowering the tailgate, allowing the bag to swing away (from the bottom) while the top part remains connected to the harness. This should allow the bag to miss the rear bar and keeps the bag upright. When the tailgate is lifted and closed, simply clip the bottom buckle(s) back onto the harness and tighten, to keep the bag tight against the tailgate and prevent it from flapping around while on the move.

hi mate, we do a tailgate bag, for twin cabs.. lots of people recently asking for one for the 200, and maybe suit the 80 also.. might see if can do one, but we can only make so much at a time also.. will see about it when I get a chance.. : ) L

Imagine doing this on car that has a fixed spare wheel that Doesn't swing out....🤣 I've got the original drifta the bag.....it's tricky as it is. Love it though.

Quality and well made Luke, would it be possible to change the two main straps so that you pull them down instead of up to tighten ? I feel this would be easier, and thank you for the idea of using electrical spray, cheers

it's only made for two, I haven't tried tbh, it would take 3 I reckon.. will leave as is ftm, and if all good might extend the rear pocked out a bit later on. but really, most vehicles only need 2 x trax. 4 if towing, but then can go on the trailer : ) L

Yes I have 4 in mine. Place them in the Drifta maxtrax bag first for easier access.
