UK too, No hate but I think this is Danny confusing personal experience with UK/Eire/EU as a whole. I seem to remember he said arcades weren't too common either, but personally I got the impression they were all over in 80s-90s. Maybe there's more of a monoculture now, but I think growing up you think your experience is the default, not just thinking certain games were more popular than they were because it's what you played, or not seeing certain toys/cards, but also believing 'everyone would have' a certain thing for dinner (which was actually specific to your family) or thinking a schoolyard meme was as ubiquitous as 'itchy beard/chinny reckon' when again it might be specific to your school.
