    For all the improvements over the years, one thing sure hasn't changed: pros looking for something to complain about while volunteers sacrifice countless hours to allow them to get paid to throw frisbees. There will always be room for improvement, but the DGPT has been doing an admirable job of moving the sport forward with limited resources.

    When you do a fast spin putt from inside the circle and you get a spit out, that’s on you. The chains are there to help catch your putt. The key word is help. Where I believe drew is wrong is on maintenance and having things trimmed up. There are a few different styles of disc golf, whether it be wooded or park style or long ball golf courses. When it comes to wooded, you have heavily wooded or cleaned up wooded. Pros should be playing on all the styles of courses

    Drew is the pro that shows up and complains no matter. He used to be a factor. Nows he's middle of pack or bottom 3rd. So just complain to stay relevant. How many tournaments has he directed? Tds are limited to the course they are given. Thousands of volunteer hours and outta pocket money and it's impossible to make everyone happy. Stop giving so much money to the pros from sponsorship and let these companies enhance the events with better payouts and legit trophies. Discmania would do better to have 3 epic events with awesome 1st place money than to pay Gannon and and other pros 100s of Thousands of dollars.

    I agree with Drew on the upkeep of the course. I understand people volunteer to help, but if a course doesn't allow you to properly prune branches and such, then the event shouldn't be held there. Maple hill for example i dont live far but everytime i go they are fixing things, improving the course, adding new features, thats what courses need to keep doing to allow the pros to play their best. Their are plenty of courses that can take the place of a course that cant be maintained properly.

    The 15 minute of Fame is a very real concern. Early greed and poor management will stop this sport dead ass. Now is the time to reduce costs. Availability and accessibility can sustain this game. If either gets reduced further, it will disappear into the woods from whence it came.

  • @Zaekyr
    @ZaekyrКүн бұрын

    I am tired of hearing about standardizing baskets, they already have standards which are just a little too loose. I wish they would stick to the spirit of the game (which was to end the round by hitting a post not dropping it into a basket). The addition of chains and basket was a good thing but currently chains are hung too far from the post and should be no more than 9 inches from it. Having the twelve chains all at the 9 inch mark would greatly reduce the chance of blow throughs and keeping the baskets the same current diameter would improve the basket capability for catching if the chains are at 9 inches out since then the chains would do less to throw putts that are dropping in from getting kicked out. You would have to be more accurate to hit but a good hit would be more likely to count. Having a weight/size standard for the chains would be important also, some have really heavy chains and others are far too light.

Only 3 players are putting better than him C1X and only Matt Bell is putting better in C1X and C2. But Matt Bell has not been under the same pressure as Gannon (the hottest player of the year). Maybe all of us should shut up and take notes from Gannon.

    Honestly I think the best course of action would be to have a Trans Player Divison. That way they can go through the same process that the FPO went through. When FPO became a thing alot of the women chose to play MPO cause the FPO payout were trash. They had to build their own GENDER PROTECTED DIVISON. I don't think we should exile Trans people from our game. But male to female transitioned players should atm play MPO which stands for Mixed Pro Open not Male Pro Open. Make the game accessible to all but dont step on the Gender protected division. I vote we get a TPO Trans Pro Open.

    I am in my second year is DG. IMO, people who 1) don't care about the PDGA/events/league. 2) people who fight opinions of pros who think what would improve the game (more wooded courses, bumping back c1, refs, etc) Are who holding the sport back. They are some of the most aggressive and full of vitriol people I have had the displeasure to meet. They are the loudest and turn people away, ruin courses and attack/tear down others hurting reputations... Reputations of people who host events, have stores, and are otherwise actively trying to grow the sport. Worst part they are not the majority, they are just usually the most vocal online. I don't know how to over come this personally.

    Drew Gibson is successful and gets to throw a frisbee for a living. People wish they could have their own channel where they have the ability to do the things you do and play. No one has a problem with what someone who is behind them are doing. Drew does not need validation from keyboard warriors he is successful in DG. Rather that strategy is to win tournaments only or to have a you tube channel to work for the pdga or another DG company like foundation or I don’t know staring his own DG company . It does not matter. They have developed careers in throwing a frisbee and getting little fan boys to cry on the internet because their strategies have not had the same success. So which one is better strategy making a career out of DG or complaining about someone else’s more successful career on a you tube video. 😂😂😂😂.
