It is so heartbreaking to see & hear the genuine disconnection with Drew's thoughts, when she was explaining how her "mother and her friends go out to eat, and then leave her alone and don't pay attention to her"... my God. Drew, you are such an inspiration today. Every obstacle you've had to overcome, alone or not, is a blessing🙏

Oh good grief. Children are to be seen and not heard. That is drastic but when you are out to watch with your mom and her friend that's how it work. My niece threw up at the dinner table when my dad and I took her out to eat and the two of us were talking. Kids are way too spoiled today. She was fine afterwards. She wasn't getting attention and found a way to real fast 😮
@sarahherbert85

@SarahSobieski We're talking about two different realities. Your niece didn't throw up while you and her mother were busy doing drugs at a nightclub, leaving her in a corner alone... Yeah, those type of kids are so spoiled. They're not meant to be seen only to be heard... You sound deranged.
He's wearing a robe because immediately before this monologue the opening sketch took place behind the scenes where the whole cast was in Drew's dressing room in various costumes complaining about having a kid host the show. There was no time to change, so he just came on wearing what he was wearing in the sketch. I was actually at this taping. Almost 40 years ago!

Her mom brings guys to dinner lol!
Drew was 4/5 years old when she starred in "Altered States" in 1980...Steven Spielberg recently called her the "Blonde Hurricane" when she was in his office in 1981 for the E.T. interview but what followed is downward spiral into drinking in 1983 and I don't know if it was her father or her mother who got her hooked on cocaine in 1987 (I'm sure I read somewhere that she was sharing the cocaine needle with her father or mother) but Drew herself said that if she hadn't entered rehab at the age of 14 in 1989, she probably would have been dead by the time she reached 15 or 16...how her mother could let this happen to her own daughter is beyond me...I seem to remember an interview with Drew in the late 1990s where she blamed her mother and stated that she was non-existent in their mother/daughter relationship.

My kids always wanted to marry their mother as they thought that is something like taking their relationship with their mother to another level and why only dad got to have it with their mother.
