Montessori method of teaching is based self directed education, hands-on learning, meaningful play. Learning is based on discovery model and where child is purposefully engaged in scientifically designed material and tools often made out of wood engaging the child with his /her senses. The emphasis is on interaction with environment by thoughtfully prepared activities throughout the classroom classified into specific learning corners or areas like language, Math, Exercises for practical life, Sensorial, culture etc. Montessori learning believes in preparing children not just for school but for life. The beautifully crafted material begging to be touched, distinctively displayed on easily accessible shelves for students to carry out special work with them, manipulating, investigating, sorting, stacking, grouping until they have mastered the lesson inside them. MONTESSORI EDUCATION believes that children are eager for knowledge and are capable of learning independently in a thoughtfully prepared environment. Montessori education values human spirit and holistic development of child physically, socially, emotionally, cognitively .If you happen to look into Montessori classroom you will find tools like sand paper numbers, alphabets, pattern mazes for development pre-writing skills developing fine motor. Grouping beads, shapes, geometry board, grading sizes, etc. for developing pre-math skills. Montessori Way of learning believes that education is a natural process carried out by child and is not acquired by listening to words but by experiences in the environment(Maria Montessori).
