I think the most westernrider have a better friendship to your horse than a dressurrider! For the most dressurrider it' s only the money to win first and not the horse! And the most englisch rider have another people who help with the horse. Westernrider do it alone with his horse because his horse is his friend!

The reiner is staring at the dressage horse like "Whats wrong with him???"

I have a feeling that these two have swapped horses before. Cowboy has no problem sitting a *Warmbloods* trot and dressage rider doesn't have a problem with the QH. They both look really good. Cowboy has the Warmblood tucking in a bit too much but gets better. Can't crit the dressage rider, Western and reining arent my sports. So refreshing to see these two out there having a friendly banter.

I think the opposite. The western rider on warmblood left the reins looser. On the contrary, the dressage rider held QH too tightly, unable to bring him in, to stop or slow him down (so he cannot do even the basics).

Dressage rider has the QH collected wrong, a reining horse should have more rein. The Reining horse would’ve enjoyed it a lot more but he wasn’t bad so

The dressage rider needs to work on that canter piroette 😂

Racing Wind It's actually more impressive that he can control the size and tempo of the pirouette. A lot of dressage horses learn improperly and just perform it like a trick while the real point of this maneuver is to teach flexibility and collection and create a pirouette from those lessons. Not to try to create flexibility and collection from the pirouette. Every dressage move should be able to be broken down into the individual elements that compose it.

At the end of the day, both styles are great in different ways but the most important thing is they both love their horses 🐎

Both riders are excellent. Olympic Champion Dressage riders are already proving they can change disciplines, compete with & beat us at reining, etc... The properly conditioned horse ridden by a correctly educated & skilled rider can do anything it's formed to perform. The saddle or no saddle at all doesn't matter. The rider makes all the difference, when the horse is capable. Dressage conditioning & basic training should be the cornerstones for all riding disciplines whether performing on a loose rein or collected. These riders aptly demonstrate that. The Dressage horse here is an advanced, perfectly conditioned, upper level horse but, the first tests the rider & this Dressage horse had to pass were done on a loose rein. There is a wealth of knowledge every western rider can gain by studying basic dressage learn it then use that skill gained through knowledge as it applies in their discipline. So many horses would be much happier, more willing partners & riders be more skilled, if those riders were more educated about riding. The fear of the difficulty of Dressage riding shouldn't put riders off. It should encourage them to learn in an effort to be kinder to their horses & gain their WILLING obedience without the use of harsh treatment. I'm a trainer & instructor of multiple disciplines. Many of my western riding (cutter, reining & reined cow horse) clients over the years have wisely taken dressage lessons from me to improve their skills & better condition of their horses for optimal performance. My students win in whatever discipline they choose to compete because they're educated & understand the biomechanics of the horse, how they influence their horse with their abilities or lack thereof, as well as the requirements to perform with excellence at their chosen equestrian sport. Again, the saddle, bit, spurs or "the practice of riding horses down" for any discipline makes no difference. The rider's skills & knowledge of the horse's needs & capabilities makes all the difference. BRAVO!!! More videos like this with commentary by good trainers are needed.

Actually, the dressage rider had the reiner’s tucker in more than it should’ve. No hate on his end though, he’s used to shorter reins. Either way, they did a good job given that they swapped horses from different disciplines. They are in fact good riders and they adapted quite well to the different styles that the horses are usually ridden at. You’re trying to say that two professional riders did horribly when they’re literally riding two different horses

Does someone know the name of the western rider?

I ride western and I love it, but that stop was really bad! It was so choppy, the horse is supposed to slide. I don’t know if it was wearing sliding plates or not but ok

The ground isn’t deep enough for a proper sliding stop.

My humble opinion the reining horse new right away he had a good rider sitting up there, in fact I think he is riding better with the dressage rider, the cowboy is no slouch either. I’ve ridden some western sports and dressage riders have competed and done well very quickly, they are just better riders because of their discipline.

No reining is very good to the horses I mean like horses get their own people who groom them one who does their mane one who tacks them and stuff like that.

@@chumbobotzproductions6515 Will not disagree dressage is more complicated but I promise reining is a lot harder than you think it is. If you say you've ridden a reiner and it wasn't that hard, try one of the AQHA open champion horses, those things are touchier than a sports car.

Dressage riders and western have almost the same stirrups lengths, although in western we usually have a very little bit shorter then dressage, dressage riders have the longest of them all to me because they usually have level feet or slightly toes down, in western we usually for things like the pole bending, barrels, those types of things they are slightly shorter because we push the heel of our boots against the stirrups for more support and your feet don't fly out like they would on your balls with that type of stuff that hole or two in the fenders is all that is needed, but in general western we try to keep em as long as you can whilst still keeping the heels down but not extreme heels down

Shorter stirrups allow you to close your knee and hip while going over fences. Try jumping with a long stirrup and you’ll see that you’ll have a difficult time getting balanced over the jump properly because you don’t have your hip angle closing enough. Different disciplines require different stirrup lengths

Such a difference! What a contrast! The western horse has choppy stride, back legs trailing behind, not using his back. Sad sight

Id say the same about the English horse being choppy and just looking weird as a western person, you are saying what a contrast but then complain about body structure, both are different, also it looks like the English guy has experience on the other horse and the other almost doesn't.

@@megandillpickle4031 in my opinion dressage and reining are the same they just do different moves both are very hard and both are judged off looks and moves dressage is more elegant but reining is more rougher on the rider and horse (cause of the stops and stuff the person has to keep a good seat) both have good and bad sides

Happily Horses I feel you. I think that dressage can be done differently so it doesn’t constantly put pressure on the horse. But racing is so horrible. The amount of abuse that goes into it disgusts me.

Tots agree I do dressage but I don't have my riens really short I keep them a nice length for my horse to stretch his neck :) and I just can't stand horse racing it's just abuse abuse abuse

When ridden correctly, there is almost no pressure on a dressage horse. The whole point of dressage is to encourage correct posture of the horse and to use their hind end. The horse will begin to carry their head/neck in that frame on their own. If you watch excellent dressage riders, they can drop reins and the horse will still carry themselves. So no, the reins are not holding the horses head like that

I disagree. Dressage can be don't right and alot of people sonit right unfortunately people abuse them. And I agree with the raving but 1% is good

u want the horse look.. attractive? ok. i think its much better than pulling on the reins like crazy making the horses neck look unnatural
